NASHVILLE, Tenn. (December 21, 2016) – Operation Troop Aid (OTA), the nonprofit organization supporting deployed U.S. Troops, presented David Ball with the 2016 Operation Troop Aid Chris Kyle “Patriot Award”
(formerly the Operation Troop Aid Patriot Award, now named in memory and honor of the late American Sniper and U.S. Navy SEAL, Chris Kyle). Recognized for his unwavering and impassioned support of, and contributions to, the United States Armed Forces and their families, the Grammy Award winning country music recording artist was formally honored at his annual Christmas show (held at Puckett’s Grocery, Franklin, TN) on Friday evening, December 16, 2016.

several years over, David and his band have dedicated their time and talents to perform at numerous shows for the benefit of Troop Aid, raising crucial funding needed to send care packages to our troops,” said Operation Troop Aid Founder Mark Woods. “David’s artistry, legacy of family and Spirit of Patriotism is exactly the reason this award exists.”

The
OTA Patriot Award is presented annually to celebrities and recording artists that uphold the men and women serving in the American Armed Forces and embody a sense of service while promoting the freedom that our troops provide. Characterized by his steadfast patriotic American spirit and signature hit, titled “Riding With Private Malone,” Ball is embraced by servicemen and women all over the world. He joins previous Patriot Award recipients Kid Rock, Kellie Pickler, Hank Williams Jr., Toby Keith, Darryl Worley, Aaron Tippin, Gary Sinise, Charlie Daniels, Mark Wills and KISS.

in 2005 by 21-year veteran, Mark Woods, Operation Troop Aid strives to demonstrate that fellow Americans stand in support of our Armed Forces.
