Nicole Kacey a unique talent

It
takes a unique talent and a large fan base to make it in Country
music…maybe even larger numbers to impress those fans in the state of
Texas. Fortunately for new artist Nicole Kacey, a 21-year-old from
Pearland, Texas, she got a head start; her amazing vocals and stage
presence allowed her to be front and center as the lead singer of a
popular regional band. Paving the way for her to build a following,
Nicole works to achieve her dream by constantly promoting herself and
her music as she attends college, goes on the road with the band, and
prepares to record songs for a CD to be released on the newly formed Red
Set Records.

Like many before her, Nicole began singing at a
very young age in her church (an 11-year-old was featured in the adult
choir) and in school assemblies. She later focused her energies on high
school musicals such as “Music Man,” “My Fair Lady,” “The Sound of
Music,” and “The Wizard of Oz.” Her confidence growing, Nicole moved on
to solo competitions such as the “Colgate Country Showdown,” the
Pearland, Texas “Let Freedom Ring” contest (in which she entered and
won) and “Pearland Idol,” where producer and owner of Red Set Records,
Beaux Williams, “tracked” her down after her rendition of Carrie
Underwood’s “Cowboy Casanova” made an impression on everyone there that
night.

“Being in a successful band was an eye-opener for me,” Nicole says.
“I’ve always loved to sing and dance and being in front of a club crowd
was different that anything I’d done before. I like to use the crowd as
my entertainment and that has allowed me to learn to read what they
like, want and need to have a great time.”

Bringing this knowledge with her in to the studio, Nicole aims to
make her debut CD as moving and entertaining as her live performances.

“I want this CD to be one you can play whether you are having a great
day or a bad one,” she explains. “This music allows you to escape or
rejoice or whatever the case may be. Zone out and relate to the music!
That’s what country music is about after all.”

Ranging in tempo and style, Nicole’s CD features songs from top
Nashville songwriters as well as originals she penned upon signing with
Red Set Records. From mainstream ballads to folksy Texas sounds, the
music will showcase Nicole’s vocal range and flexibility as an artist.
This aspect is a new challenge and one she welcomes as she forays in to a
solo career.

“I’m excited about making my own music and creating a signature style
with these songs,” Nicole says. “Covering well-known songs brings a
sort of familiarity for the audience and I am looking forward to
introducing them to a different side of me.”

Nicole has had the opportunity to play at venues across the state and
open for such national acts as Mark Chesnutt and Texas music artist,
Kyle Parks. Earlier this year, Nicole had the honor of singing at the
Houston Rockets “New Years Eve Game” at the Toyota Center in Houston. As
she moves forward in these beginning stages of her career, she is
excited about what’s to come.

“This is what I got into music for,” she says. “I’m working toward a
goal I set for myself a long time ago and I’m happy with the direction
it has taken me. The future is wide-open and I’m hopeful that my music
will touch others and that I have a chance to make a difference with
it.”
