Toby Keith – Drunk Americans
(NASHVILLE,
Tenn.) The countdown began Saturday (Nov. 22) with the release of a
teaser video and notifications across social networks including Twitter,
Facebook and Instagram. Today, Toby Keith’s “Drunk Americans” video
premiered prominently across Vevo, with its CMT premiere set for
Thursday (11/27)
Directed
by Michael Salomon with animation by Ben Naff, the video captures the
song’s inclusive, wall-busting view of the American people. Written by
Brandy Clark, Bob DiPiero and Shane McAnally, “Drunk Americans” lyrics
break down barriers and rally, “We ain’t east, we ain’t west. We ain’t
left, we ain’t right. Ain’t black, we ain’t white, we just came here to
drink… We just raise up our glass, we don’t give a rat’s ass, if
you’re a democrat or republican, we’re happy to be here tonight you can
see, we’re just all drunk Americans.”
Taking note, Roughstock writes
“Its list of varied themes [lyrics]- Democrat or Republican, ball cap
or turban, blue or white collar – cuts deeper… by celebrating the
demolition of societal boundaries.”And the response is surging with the
cut racing up the charts, setting the stage for a new album early next
year.
In the meantime, Toby has several events on the slate. Early next month, he’ll perform at theCoyote Acoustic Concert for
Louisville radio legend Coyote Calhoun. The December 3 show benefits
multiple children’s charities and celebrates the WAMZ program director
and air
talent, a longtime friend of Keith’s and fellow fan of Oklahoma University.
A
few days later, Keith’s CMC Rocks the Hunter television special
premieres on Foxtel cable in Australia. Toby played the internationally
known festival in Hunter Valley, Australia March 16 during his Hammer Down Under Tour.
On Jan. 9, Toby headlines CMT’s Ultimate Kickoff Party,
which will air live from the College Football National Championship in
Dallas. He’ll be joined by Lady Antebellum, Big & Rich and Brett
Eldredge.

Toby
Keith presides over a business empire that includes his I Love This Bar
& Grill restaurants, Wild Shot Mezcal and more. But it is his work
as a songwriter, musician, vocalist, producer and entertainer that is
the creative engine behind chart-topping albums and standing-room-only
tours.
