“The Wild Side of Life” is the brand new single from Thomas Maguire and Fhiona Ennis. This duet has proven to be very popular for Thomas and Fhiona since introducing it into their dance programme, resulting in lots of positive feedback from their audiences. To put this feedback to the test the song was included in a recording session which took place in a Nashville recording studio using the finest of session musicians, including the legendary Hargus “Pig” Robins and Fred Newell who have played on records for artists such as George Jones, Bob Dylan, Alan Jackson, Merle Haggard, Porter Wagoner and Conway Twitty.
This song became one of the most famous country songs of the early 1950s and then later to come was the answer song “I Didn’t Know God Made Honky Tonk Angels” , which Thomas & Fhiona have incorporated into their version. Here’s hoping that Thomas and Fhiona will have their own success with their rendition of this country classic.
Thomas, Fhiona and their band are currently touring the length and breadth of Ireland, and are looking forward to their forthcoming tours to Scotland in March and July, where last year they were presented with an award for ”Best Irish Country Band Of The Year” at the Northern Nashville Country Music Club in Thurso. They are also looking forward to their trip to Salou, Spain in May with Kavanagh Travel on their Irish Country Music Festival. July sees Thomas and Fhiona appear at The Country Fest in Letterkenny, Co Donegal where they will share the stage with Joni Harms, Clinton Gregory, Leona Williams, Ron Williams, Charlie Allen and the cream of Ireland’s Country Bands.
