NATHAN CARTER & CHARLIE LANDSBOROUGH
The King of UK Country Music Charlie Landsborough has joined forces with Country Music’s young Prince, Nathan Carter, to record one of Charlies’ best loved songs – My Forever Friend. This superb duet version of Charlie`s classic inspirational song was recorded `live` in Nashville, and features some of Music City`s top session musicians, and the blend of these two velvet voices make it a unique and organic masterpiece.
The UK Country Music scene has always been overshadowed by its US cousin which is enjoying mainstream chart success. In 2009 Country music album sales accounted for 1.6% of all albums sold. With more than 128.9m albums sold, that accounts for just over 2m albums (BPI). Many of these likely to be US Country releases.
However the UK Country Music scene still enjoys success of its own, with artists including Dominic Kirwan, Philomena Begley and Daniel O’Donnell continuing to sell albums and touring. Now Nathan Carter is set to join that elite bunch of top selling artistes.
The genre also attracts younger artists such as the award winning Nathan Carter with whom Charlie duets on this single release. In 2010 Nathan won three awards: ‘Newcomer of the Year’ at the Northern Ireland Country Music Show awards; ‘Newcomer of the Year’ at the West Limerick 102 Awards show and ‘Best Newcomer’ at the Sunday World All Ireland Country Music Awards show at the Citywest Complex, Dublin‘. Not a bad achievement for a former head chorister at the famous St Francis Xavier’s College; with its choir Nathan sang in the presence of Pope John Paul 11.
Forever Friend is a landmark release that sees two of the UK’s leading artists and Liverpudlian’s joining forces proving that Country music is alive and strong in the UK. This single will also feature on Nathan`s new album, entitled TIME OF MY LIFE due out later in the year.
Nathan is the hottest new act on the scene and Daniel O’Donnell has tipped him for mega stardom.
