Nashville, TN – (Dec 16, 2014) – Curb
Records is pleased to announce the release of “Country,” the debut
single from Mo Pitney. The song, written by Mo along with songsmiths
Bill Anderson and Bobby Tomberlin, proclaims “Country” isn’t a place on a
map, rather a place in the heart.  Pitney explains, “we spent a long
time simply answering the question, what truly is country to us?  After a
half day, we finished our explanation with what is now my debut
single”.   The single showcases Mo Pitney’s modern take on traditional
country as well as his love and talent for songwriting. A true
storyteller, every word he writes is meticulously chosen. Mo wrote or
co-wrote every song on his upcoming album slated for a 2015 release.

Mo Pitney has been crisscrossing the nation garnering a lot of early
support from media and radio alike including a standing ovation on the
Grand Ole Opry.  Just last week, Pitney’s debut single was selected and
is currently featured in Spotify’s coveted Spotlight on 2015 – Country
playlist.  Each year Spotify presents a list of new country artists they
believe will break big and connect with fans across America. The list
is compiled with the help of their in-house music experts and key data
insights, including Spotify’s “Viral Charts”, to help predict which new
artists will have the biggest impact in the coming year.  Fans can

of the Country Music Association’s Close-Up Magazine as a debut
spotlight artist.

 About Mo Pitney:

Pitney’s musical roots were born out of Cherry Valley, IL where music
rang throughout the family home.  Inspired by artists Johnny Cash, Keith
Whitley,  Randy Travis, Buck Owens and bluegrass legend Ralph Stanley,
Mo carries a deep reverence for the history of country music.
Pitney, often referred to as an old soul, is a humble twenty two year
old storyteller of life through song.  Often writing one to two songs a
day, he is meticulous that the phrasing of every lyric “reflect  who I
am  or how I’d speak.”  It’s the same approach that this recording
artist takes into the studio.   Mo’s musical style represents a blend of
the traditional and mainstream country sounds. Deeply rooted in the
classic true country style that inspires him, paired with modern
production, Mo delivers each song with a fresh, young, modern twist…in
his own way, making the old new again. When not performing or writing
music, Pitney spends his free time training his bird dogs, fishing, or
hunting anything that’s in season.
