Michael Martin Murphey, Jonathan Edwards
Plan Series Of Acoustic Shows In Fall
ATLANTA, Georgia — Hit songwriter / artists Jonathan Edwards and Michael Martin Murphey have announced a series of acoustic shows — sharing the stage and trading stories and songs — beginning in September.
Both artists first hit the Pop charts with songs like “Wildfire” and “Sunshine” in the 70s and have since built strong followings across the country.
Edwards remains one of the premiere troubadours of the past 40 years, who debuted in many hearts and minds with the 1971 release of his hit single, “Sunshine,” the first gold record for then-fledgling Capricorn Records. His debut album for Capricorn and subsequent releases on Atlantic Records and other labels (including his own imprint), showcased the Virginia-raised artist’s country, folk and bluegrass influences and demonstrated his penchant for writing songs of both honesty and poignancy. Edwards’ latest album is My Love Will Keep.
