TN (June 5, 2012) — Mark Wayne Glasmire received a “world class” honor
during the Aristo Global Show today: the award-winning
singer/songwriter accepted a plaque to commemorate his nine weeks at #1
as voted by European DJs (who are responsible for compiling the Hotdisc
Top 40 Chart). Lee Williams of CMR Nashville was on hand at The Second
Fiddle to make the presentation on Stuart Cameron’s behalf at the Aristo
Show.
TN (June 5, 2012) — Mark Wayne Glasmire received a “world class” honor
during the Aristo Global Show today: the award-winning
singer/songwriter accepted a plaque to commemorate his nine weeks at #1
as voted by European DJs (who are responsible for compiling the Hotdisc
Top 40 Chart). Lee Williams of CMR Nashville was on hand at The Second
Fiddle to make the presentation on Stuart Cameron’s behalf at the Aristo
Show.
Glasmire won the award based upon the popularity of his International hit, “I Like You.”
The breezy, light-hearted track took the chart’s #1 spot in a few short
weeks and retained that position for a record-tying nine week run.
Managing Director of Hotdisc, Stuart Cameron, says “It is unusual for a
song to gain as much unprecedented reaction from the DJs in Europe as ‘I
Like You’ received.” Cameron adds, “Only one other song (by Billy
Yates) has made it to #1 one for nine weeks since we began in 2007.”
