
Members of Lonesome River Band celebrating five IBMA Awards nominations
Band kicks off 30th Anniversary next month
Band members of one of bluegrass music’s favorite groups, Lonesome River Band, are celebrating five International Bluegrass Music Association (IBMA) Award nominations just in time for the group’s 30th Anniversary next month.

Lonesome River Band also received a nomination for Album of the Year for THE ALL-STAR JAM – LIVE AT GRAVES MOUNTAIN with Russell Moore & IIIrd Tyme Out, The Crowe Brothers, Mark Newton, Lou Reid & Carolina, Carl Jackson, Audie Blaylock & Redline, Carrie Hassler, Brand New Strings (artists); Mark Newton & Carl Jackson (producers); and Rural Rhythm Records (label).
Fans were thrilled to see band leader, Sammy Shelor nominated again as Banjo Performer of the Year, an Award he received four consecutive years from 1995-1998 and numerous nominations throughout his impressive career.

Sammy Shelor and Mike Hartgrove are nominated for RECORDED EVENT OF THE YEAR for the song, “Graves Mountain Memories,” as part of the Rural Rhythm All-Stars featuring Carl Jackson, Mark Newton, Audie Blaylock, Lou Reid, Russell Moore, Carrie Hassler, Wayne Benson, Mike Anglin (artists); Mark Newton & Carl Jackson (producers); Rural Rhythm Record (label).
Lonesome River Band is now on tour with a performance today at the Gettysburg Bluegrass Festival in Gettysburg, PA and the North Carolina Bluegrass Festival in Marion, NC on Saturday.
