Lone Deer Laredo Interview by Christian Lamitschka for Country Music News International Magazine & Radio Show

Lamitschka:  Music has
many new fans throughout Europe who may be hearing about you for the first
time. How would you describe yourself and the music you play to someone who has
never seen or heard you?

Answer: Our music has its roots in Americana, Slavic
melancholy, golden age of folkrock (Dylan, Baez, Fleetwood Mac etc…),
cinematic landscapes, dark woods of Finland, redwood lullabies, animal rights,
God, love and endless roadtrips.

Lamitschka:  How was
the last year for you? What were your highlights?

Answer: Making a record in Nashville at Alex the Great
Studios with the great Brad Jones (producer). It was a dreamlike adventure.

Lamitschka:  How did
you choose the title for the CD?  Is there a story behind the name?

Answer: The name of the debut (Vol. 1/7) means that it is the
first part of seven album adventure you will get during the following years (if
you dare).

Lamitschka:  Do you
write the songs yourself? If not, how do you go about finding the songs for
your CD?

Answer: Yes we do. We love writing new tunes. Vol. 2/7 is
already in our minds…

Lamitschka:  What will
your next single be?

Answer: Stars Stars Lights and Paradise, the song dedicated
to old finnish pop stars Rauli Badding Sommerjoki who lived and died for rock
and roll)

Lamitschka:  What do
you think about today’s music scene versus its post and where do you see it
going in the future?

Answer: We think that the old ways of songwriting are coming back
stronger than ever. You take the guitar and you put your  story into the song in the most poetic way.
Take a song like Redondo Beach by Patti Smith and you’ll notice that it is as
fresh as it was back in the 70’s.

Lamitschka:  What
inspired you to become an artist?

Answer: Those endless hours of longing for the chosen one to
appear.

Lamitschka:  Any
thoughts of retirement ahead?

Answer: You’d better ask this question again when Lone Deer
Laredo Vol. 7/7 has released…

Lamitschka:  When you
get time off, how do you like to relax?

Answer: We relax writing songs, organizing music and art
festival in Helsinki (Superwood festival) and spend our time with our dog
Mauri.

Lamitschka:  Fans are
always hungry for good road stories. Do you have one you
can share with us (come on don’t be shy)?

Answer: Somewhere in the Nevada Desert on a remote road after
hundreds of miles of driving in the very foggy weather we experienced a magical
moment when our car was stopped by wild burro. This beatiful creature blocked
our way and turn into us to say there was a fallen timber truck on the road.
