LOCASH COWBOYS SALUTE LATE BANDMATE RYAN “TROOP” JONES AT WILDHORSE SALOON CONCERT TO BENEFIT MUSICARES, SUNDAY, FEBRUARY 26
Special musical guests announced for “The Song Lives On – A Tribute to Ryan Jones”
NASHVILLE — The LoCash Cowboys’ Chris Lucas and Preston Brust have plenty of reason to celebrate this week with Keith Urban’s hit song “You Gonna Fly” reaching No. 1 on the Billboard and Mediabase charts. The duo co-wrote the song with fellow Sony/ATV songwriter Jaren Johnston. On Sunday, Feb. 26, however, Lucas and Brust and the extended LoCash family will celebrate the life of their late bandmate, Ryan “Troop” Jones, who passed away on October 19.
“The Song Lives On – A Tribute to Ryan Jones” happens at the Wildhorse Saloon on Nashville’s 2nd Ave., the spot where Lucas and Brust met and began performing together 10 years ago. The evening will feature music by LoCash Cowboys and special guests Jeffrey Steele, Mary Sue Englund, Bruce Brown, Mason Tyler, and more. Money raised will benefit MusiCares which provides a safety net of critical assistance for music people in times of need.
“Troop” joined the LoCash Cowboys’ band in 2005, playing fiddle, mandolin and acoustic guitar, and toured extensively with band from that point until having to take a leave of absence in July 2011 to combat a life-threatening ulcer which led to additional medical complications including pneumonia resulting in his passing in October.
“We will celebrate the life of our amazing friend, bandmate, and brother, Troopy,” said Brust.
Lucas added, “We miss him every day.”
Tickets are $10 pre-sale and $15 at the door. Doors open at 6PM. Advance tickets are available through the Wildhorse Saloon website. Telephone: 615-902-8211.
