Liz Beth Nobody’s Mama

Liz Beth has a lush new ballad, Nobody’s Mama

Liz Beth has a new single out on February 1st, 2026 entitled, Nobody’s Mama, a mid- tempo country ballad with an emotional excursion into the freedom afforded by a life of standing your own ground.  Piano and electric guitar intertwine on the intro as a pleading steel guitar sets the table for Liz Beth to resolve how things got this way, “I wake up when I want, pour my coffee strong, don’t answer to no one, ain’t doing nothin’ wrong.”   Her clear voice continues the poignant story of conviction on the harmony filled chorus,

I’m nobody’s mama

And nobody’s wife

The winds have changed

A new season of life

I wake up alone, hear my own breath

That’s what it feels like when nobody’s left

No one to cling to

No one to fight

I’m nobody’s mama

And nobody’s wife

“Freedom is the sweetest thing I’ve known,” is the take away from this heartfelt tune as the lyrics describe a long-lost past that has evolved into the future, putting questions in the singer’s mind of the best way forward.  During a conversation with Amy Grant backstage at the Grand Ole Opry, Liz told her that, right now, “I’m nobody’s mama and nobody’s wife.”  Amy held up her hand and said, “That’s a song… write that song.”  Written by Liz Beth, Nobody’s Mama was produced by former Toto member, Buddy Hyatt at Hilltop Recording Studios in Nashville, Tennessee.

Elizabeth Marie Goldman was born in Saranac Lake, New York, but spent most of her life in Georgia.  She began singing as a very young child and took piano lessons at the age of five, lovingly influenced by her maternal grandmother.  Partial to artists such as Amy Grant and Sandi Patty, she began singing in church at the age of fourteen, spending the next thirty years as a worship leader singing in churches, at special events and conferences.  However, country music pulled her heart towards a long-awaited music career and Liz Beth now resides outside of Nashville and has been blessed to have recorded and released several songs for radio, including Faded Love, Tip Jar Blues and Red, Red Wine.

Liz is the host of Nashville Backroads, a podcast which highlights independent artists, their stories and their songs.  Her show has been successful at creating a supportive platform for artists to share their struggles and successes.  Sounds like Nobody’s Mama is a song that would fit right into that format.
