Lady
Antebellum have a blast in Frankfurt Germany
There
was a large crowd on July 20th for the concert of the band
Lady Antebellum from Nashville / TN (USA). Thousands of fans went to
the Jahrhunderthalle in Frankfurt in Germany. The variation of
license plates revealed that not only people from this area had come
to see this band perform but from all around Germany.
It
started a little after 8 p.m. Lady Antebellum, consisting of Charles
Kelley, Dave Haywood and Hillary Scott, came on stage and were
welcomed with a thunderous applause. This enthusiastic reception gave
the impression of an arena filled with over 10,000 people.
The
band was overwhelmed by the affection of their German fans and let
their show began. The crowd soon began to leave their chairs and
started moving and dancing to the songs performed on stage.
Fans
could listen to Love Don’t Live Here, Lookin’ for a Good
Time, I Run to You, Need You Now, Home is where the Heart is,
American Honey, Love This Pain, Ready to Love Again, Our Kind of
Love, Hello World, Just a Kiss, We Owned the Night, Dancin’ Away with
My Heart
and many other songs.
It
was easy for them to perform so many songs with three hit albums like
“Lady Antebellum” (2008), “Need You Now” (2010) and “Own
The Night” (2011). Worth admiring was that the audience could sing
along about 90% of the songs which was not expected.
2007
they draw attention to their selves the first time when Jim Brickman
gave a concert and they accompanied his song Never Alone.
This instance brought them their record deal with Capitol Records and
they soon after released their first single
Love Don’t Live
Here
, which was number three in
the country charts. Because of the success they produced their debut
album which was called after their band’s name and it became number
one in the country album charts and number four in the US album
charts.
The
success has never stopped since then. In 2008 they won the Academy of
Country Music for
Top New Duo or Group, in
2009 they were also nominated as
Best New Artist
and
Best Country Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocal
for the Grammy Awards. The CMA-Award in
Vocal Group of the
Year
ensued in 2009. Their song
I Run to You (2009)
became number one and also won the Grammy in
Best Country
Performance by a Duo or Group with
Vocal
in 2010.
They
released their song
Need You Now at
the end of August 2009 which was unsurprisingly number one in the
country charts and also in the top five pop charts for a week. After
they released their identically named album their song rose in the
charts as a result. It was number two for three weeks and therefore
was one of the most successful country songs of the year. The album
was number one for four weeks in the US album charts and for month
number one album of country music.
As a result of the
stunning success of Need You Now they also published this song
in Europe. The single as well as the album were in the charts of
European countries. 2011 has been the most successful year for the
band so far. They won five Grammy Awards and therefore are one of the
most successful bands in music history. At the end of 2011 they
released their third album which is called Own The Night and
was the reason to start a world tour to present this band live to a
broad public.
