On the eve of her highly anticipated Grand Ole Opry® debut, acclaimed Geffen Records singer-songwriter Laci Kaye Booth has released her compelling new single, “Daddy’s Mugshot.” This track marks her first new music since the release of her critically acclaimed 2024 debut album, “The Loneliest Girl In The World,” and its accompanying “Acoustic Sessions.”

“Daddy’s Mugshot” showcases Booth’s signature dreamy vocals, which belie a core of strength and a playful sense of humor. The lyrics, “What runs in the blood / Ain’t ever gonna stop / I might look like my mama / But I smile like my daddy’s mugshot,” offer a glimpse into Booth’s personal narrative, blending familial ties with a touch of rebellious spirit.

The track, written by Booth herself, was produced by Ben West, who also helmed “The Loneliest Girl In The World.” West’s production perfectly complements Booth’s emotive delivery, creating a sonic landscape that is both intimate and powerful. Listeners can find the song on all major digital platforms.

Booth’s journey from a childhood spent in a barn in Livingston, TX, to her current base in Nashville is a testament to her dedication to her craft. She began writing songs at the tender age of nine, honing her skills and developing her unique voice. Her talent has not gone unnoticed, earning her recognition as one of CMT’s “Next Women of Country” and SiriusXM The Highway’s “Highway Find.”

The year 2024 has been a whirlwind for Booth, filled with extensive touring and performances alongside notable artists such as Flatland Cavalry, Parker McCollum, and Kameron Marlowe. The release of “The Loneliest Girl In The World” last spring solidified her position as a rising star in the country music scene.

Critics have lauded the album, with Billboard hailing Booth as “one of the genre’s brightest newcomers.” Atwood Magazine praised the record as “an insightful, soulful, and lyrically smart record…a triumph,” while Country Now commended her “newfound clarity and determination to showcase her talent.” The Los Angeles Times further highlighted the album’s strength, stating, “The most impressive LP from a new(-ish) country act so far this year, ‘The Loneliest Girl in the World’ teems with vivid songwriting.”

Booth’s upcoming summer tour will see her performing at major festivals and supporting established artists. She is set to appear at Morgan Wallen’s Sand in My Boots and North of Nowhere music festivals, as well as join Megan Moroney for three dates and Parker McCollum for select shows on his summer tour.
