brought big support for The Shalom Foundation Christian humanitarian
work in Guatemala!
Nashville, TN…(November 25, 2013)…Over the weekend, Country Music Hall of Fame inductee and legendary music icon Kenny Rogers shared his time and talent at Nashville’s 5th
annual Hymns, Hams & Jams concert from Loveless Barn in support of
The Shalom Foundation. The event was a huge success, raising much-needed
funds in support of its medical program in Guatemala.
The event was co-chaired by two of the Shalom Foundation’s supporters,
Dr. Ken Moore (Mayor of Franklin) and Marty Dickens. In addition to the
concert by Kenny Rogers, attendees were treated to a dinner and
auction. Patrons had the opportunity to bid on memorable items such as
handwritten, framed, and autographed song lyrics for “The Gambler,” a
“Southern Dinner and Evening” in home experience with Chef J Mitchell, a
guitar autographed by Tim McGraw, a guided hunting trip, and a luxury
fishing trip to Guatemala.
A Pediatric Plastic Surgery team from Nashville’s Monroe Carell Jr.
Children’s Hospital at Vanderbilt recently returned from The Moore
Pediatric Surgery Center in Guatemala. They provided care for over 100
children and completed more than 50 surgical procedures, changing the
lives of those children and their families forever. Nine pediatric
surgical teams from the Nashville area have served at The Moore
Pediatric Surgery Center since its opening in March 2011, including
dental, plastics, ENT, general surgery, orthopedics and ophthalmology.
