Kelly Clarkson in Rush

Kelly Clarkson Hits Country Radio With A “Rush”

Clarkson’s “Don’t Rush” Featuring Vince Gill Impacts Radio Following CMA Performance

NASHVILLE, TN – CMA and two-time ACM Award winner Kelly Clarkson is
excited to bring her new single “Don’t Rush” to country radio. The song,
which features Vince Gill on vocals, debuts at #25 this week on
Billboard’s Hot Country Songs Chart.
Kelly debuted the song last week on the CMA Awards, garnering immediate
response from fans, radio and media. In a CBS News poll, viewers voted
her performance the best of the night by more than two to one.

“Requests are pouring in on Facebook to play this song,” said Dallas
Reese of WKXC in Augusta, GA. “Listeners are chompin’ at the bit for
this one.” Taste of Country declares, “Clarkson is instantly a vocalist
unlike any other active in country music” and calls the pairing with
Vince Gill “magic,” while MusicRow cheers, “Kelly sways through this
groove-a-minute tune with an old-school R&B vibe. Wonderfully
rhythmic.”

“I love the song,” said Kelly. “It’s sexy retro-country, and as soon I
heard it, I put the song on hold. My goal as a singer is to capture the
sentiment of a song and emote what the feeling is. I’m in a
relationship and super happy, and I don’t think I would have been able
to sing this song eight months ago. Love should be celebrated, and this
is a great description of where I’m at in my life. This is a couple’s
skate, not an all skate song,” she laughed.

“Don’t Rush,” produced by Dann Huff and written by Blu Sanders,
Natalie Hemby and Lindsay Dawn Chapman, is featured on Kelly’s upcoming
Greatest Hits-Chapter One album, available November 19. The album also
features the #1 country smash “Don’t You Wanna Stay” with Jason Aldean.
Nominated for CMA Female Vocalist of the Year, Kelly has sold over 20
million albums worldwide. She was recently a mentor on ABC’s Duets as
well as a guest mentor for Team Blake on NBC’s The Voice.
Since bursting onto the music scene 10 years ago, Kelly Clarkson has
released 5 studio albums (Thankful, Breakaway, My December, All I Ever
Wanted, Stronger), sold over 20 million albums worldwide, 10 million
albums in the US and has had 10 singles in the top 10 on the Billboard
Hot 100 Singles Chart. She is the recipient of 2 Grammy Awards, 4
American Music Awards, 3 MTV Video Music Awards, 2 Academy of Country
Music Awards, 1 Country Music Association Award and 12 Billboard Music
Awards. Clarkson’s most recent effort Stronger debuted at #2 on both
the Billboard Top 200 and Digital Albums Chart. The album is certified
Platinum by the R.I.A.A. and produced the smash singles, “Mr. Know It
All” and “Stronger (What Doesn’t Kill You)” which marks Kelly’s 9th and
10th Top 10 hit. “Stronger (What Doesn’t Kill You) was #1 on
Billboard’s Hot 100 Chart for two consecutive weeks (3 weeks total)
marking her 3rd #1 on the Hot 100 chart after 2002’s “A Moment Like
This” and 2009’s “My Life Would Suck Without You.” Kelly was recently a
mentor on ABC’s Duets as well as a guest mentor for Team Blake on NBC’s
The Voice. Kelly was recently nominated for a 2012 CMA Award for Female
Vocalist of the Year. Kelly is set to release Greatest Hits – Chapter 1
on November 19, which will feature 3 new tracks as well as a
compilation of some of her greatest hits to date.
