Let’s Get It Wrong Together – the new duet by Katie Jayne and Luke Austen

Let’s Get It Wrong Together hits all the rights spots as Katie Jayne and Luke Austen playfully wind their way through this country romp. Written by Jayne and Austen, the duet has the earmarks of a jukebox favorite as the two singers take a deep dive into love despite all the pitfalls.
The fun, uptempo song starts with pickups on the fiddle played by Tim Crouch, who also doubles on banjo and mandolin. Settling into the first verse, Luke serenades his partner with, “I know you got your doubts and your maybes and your ifs and buts are driving you crazy.”
Katie counters with, “I could spend my time patiently waiting, can’t find any reasons to be hesitating,” “I got you, that’s enough for me baby,” throws up a wall of caution as they harmonize on the chorus, “Let’s get it wrong together, let’s make a few mistakes, yeah we got each other, maybe we’ll find our way.” The potent chorus leads into a blazing electric guitar solo picked by producer Jared Adlam while Crouch’s fiddle takes the back half of the break. Rounding out the track is Reece Baines on drums, while Adlam covers the bass and keyboards.
Katie Jayne is known for her powerhouse vocals and doesn’t disappoint on this rowdy number. Off the recent success of her smash single, He Had Me At Hello, Katie couldn’t help but reunite with her co writer and award winning country artist Luke Austen for the RTC Records September 25th release of this duet. Jayne has this observation about Austen, “Getting to work with Luke on this song was such a joy. Not only is he an incredible vocalist, but he’s one of the most talented songwriters I know. His voice brings this warmth and authenticity that makes ‘Let’s Get It Wrong Together’ feel even more special.”
Luke Austen is the recipient of multiple Golden Guitar awards while steadily building an impressive country career. An accomplished guitarist, Luke is no stranger to the road or the studio, having spent half his life devoted to the music industry. Topping the charts with his previous release, Two Miles Down, he has earned his stripes becoming an artist in his own right.
This is a robust track with lots of strong individual vocal highlights, but the tight harmonies are a real treat for the listener. These two Australian country artists are heading in the right direction with Let’s Get It Wrong Together.
