Karissa Ella Interview by Christian Lamitschka for Country Music News International Magazine & Radio Show

1. Lamitschka:  How was the last year for you? What were your highlights?

Answer:  Last year was a year of growth for me. The highlight of that year, was finally releasing my personal music into the world. You have to start somewhere and last year was just the beginning. This summer I am releasing six more songs and plan to keep growing and challenging myself creatively. I cannot wait to see what listeners think of my music!

2. Lamitschka:  What is your latest EP and how’s it doing?

Answer:  My current single “Vacay,” is out just in time for summer! I have five more songs coming in July to complete myBlossomEP. It was added onto several playlists including Spotify’s “New Music Nashville” and Apple Music “Hot Tracks.” It was a very exciting take-off for my single and the streams keep increasing everyday! It has been very thrilling to watch!

3. Lamitschka:  How did you choose the title for the EP?  Is there a story behind the name?

Answer:  My EP coming out in July is titled,Blossomand it has six songs that I co-wrote with some awesome Nashville songwriters. I decided to name it after the music venue in my hometown called, Blossom Music Center. This place has been one of the biggest reasons I am an artist. It is where I get inspired and get to watch my favorite artists perform. I can only hope that one day I’ll be able to share my music on that stage too.

4. Lamitschka:  Do you write the songs yourself? If not, how do you go about finding the songs for your CD?

Answer: I write by myself and also co-write with other songwriters. I am a true believer that the more minds, the better during a writing session. Exchanging ideas and life experiences is where the best ideas come from. I co-wrote every song on this EP and could not be more proud of it! I can honestly say I can relate to each song, which makes performing them that much easier.

5. Lamitschka:  What hopes and desires do you have?

Answer:  I hope one day my music lets me travel around the world. I love meeting new people and performing. My goal is to have my music enjoyed by people and have fun with it. I want to bring listeners on this journey right along with me. I hope we can make memories together.

6. Lamitschka:  What is the difference between your last EP and your current one?

Answer:  My last EP had only three songs and it was kind of test to see peoples reactions to my voice and vibe. The overall reaction was great and I could not wait to release more of my music. I finally get to put more of my songs out there for the world to hear. I just hope people can relate, laugh and love my creations.

7. Lamitschka:  What will your next single be?

Answer:  The first song off my EP is called “Vacay” and it was released May 17. Following this, the next single is a little funny, a bit quirky and upbeat. It is about how much girls love Country superstar, Luke Bryan. It kind of plays with the idea that we don’t even know this guy but he is always with us and we LOVE him. He’s on the radio, TV, in our headphones and we just can’t help but have a crush on him! This song will make you laugh and smile all the way to a Luke Bryan concert.

8.Lamitschka:  What inspired you to become an artist?

Answer:  Music has been a constant light in my life since I was little. It was a form of medicine growing up and still is. I rely on music to change my mood and for advice. As I grew, I started to realize how powerful music was. When I would go to concerts I would always catch myself envisioning what it would be like to be on that stage with thousands of people singing your songs. One day, it clicked with me that I wanted to sing music that could help others just like it helped me. The adrenaline of performing is addicting. I love being an artist and hope I get to do it for a very long time.

9. Lamitschka:  Many music fans today get their information about artists online. Do you have your own website and what will fans find there?

Answer:  Yes! You can find my music and information about me atwww.karissaella.com.  There, you will find upcoming performances, newsletters, social media links and more!

10. Lamitschka:  What inspired you to become a songwriter?

Answer:  At first, songwriting intimidated me. I was not someone who was into expressing my feelings and going in depth with experiences. But as I continued to write, I learned that the best songs form from being vulnerable. Since then, I have used my experiences and those of others to create songs that listeners can relate to. As an artist, there is nothing like singing the songs you helped create.
