“My
life took a turn when I put a video of me singing a cover song on
YouTube and one of my favorite country singer’s producer saw it and
contacted me,” states Lawhorn. “Now I’m about to release my debut album
with Average Joes. I don’t think I could have asked for anything
better.”

“Ultimately,
it’s the whole package – the rough-edged music, the painterly words and
Lawhorn’s conviction – that makes this a most auspicious debut.” – Bob

This
stellar, debut disc is a perfect blend of sweet melody and raw sound
influenced by some of the industry’s greatest rebels (Hank Williams,
Waylon Jennings). Lawhorn wrote or co-wrote every song on the disc with
contributions from some of Nashville’s finest writers. From the
auto-biographical title track, “Original Good Ol’ Boy,” to the
extraordinarily evocative “Last of a Dyin’ Breed,” Lawhorn’s songwriting
reflects an authenticity that will surely become his signature sound.
