Jim Foglesong Passes:
Country Music Hall of Famer Jim Foglesong passed
away this morning.
He was 90.
No further details are available; arrangements are pending.
A West Virginia native, Foglesong served as President of Nashville
labels including MCA, ABC/Dot and Capitol.
He’s credited with the signings of both George Strait and Garth Brooks,
and worked closely with Donna Fargo, Freddy Fender, Roy Clark, Don
Williams, Barbara Mandrell, Reba McEntire, the Oak Ridge Boys and many
more.
Retired from the music business since the early ’90s, he most recently
served as a professor and administrator for Vanderbilt’s Blair School of
Music and Trevecca Nazarene’s music industry programs.
He was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 2004.
