JASON CASSIDY BLAME IT ON WAYLON

JASON CASSIDY  KEEPS IT COUNTRY WITH

“BLAME IT ON WAYLON”

New Radio Single To Hit Radio Beginning Next Week

Deer Park, TX  – Fresh off a Top 5 Texas charting hit with “Ride of Your Life,” A-Blake Records recording artist Jason Cassidy is releasing his latest single, “Blame It On Waylon”* to radio stations in Texas on January 21 and nationally on January 28. Written by Josh Thompson and Rhett Akins and produced by Greg Hunt  (Rosewood Studios, Tyler, Texas), the single is being distributed and marketed by Smith Music Group. Hunt served as producer on “Ride Of Your Life,” which was also a success for the promotion team at Smith. National radio promotion will be handled by A-Blake Records’ newly appointed VP of Promotion & Acquisition, David Newmark.

Keeping to his word to “keep it country,” this anthem, much like Cassidy’s first self-penned #1 “Honky Tonk Heaven,” has the traditional 4/4 beat, signature guitar riffs and honky tonk references, and is another Cassidy tribute to the greats of traditional and outlaw country who started it all.
“Traditional
country is where my heart is and the feel of this song will remind
everyone that it’s the outlaws like Waylon, Willie, Merle and Kris that
set the standard for true country music,”
stated Cassidy.
Implicating Jennings and “all them other outlaws,”
Cassidy uses his deep vocals to place blame for his wild ways squarely
on the shoulders of the legends. Delivering the tale in such a style
that is reminiscent of the old, yet edgy enough for the pop country
generation of modern country listeners, the song is getting rave reviews
from fans and critics alike:
“‘Blame
It On Waylon’ is current, make no mistake about it, but it will take
you back to the time of 4/4 beats and the Outlaw days. Somewhere, the
Big ‘Hoss is smiling down…”
Chuck Dauphin, Billboard.com
“‘Blame
It On Waylon’ showcases everything there’s to like about Jason
Cassidy’s approach to Modern Country Music. It’s his best single yet.”
Matt Bjorke, Roughstock.com
“This
is a great single that captures the feel of pure classic country while
it tells a very unique story mixed with a wonderful beat.  It’s a song,
if given the chance, that will capture the hearts of many Waylon
Jennings fans while it intrigues today’s country music fans.”
Gina Singerhouse, Strictly Country
“Putting
the blame where it lays, Jason Cassidy has a highly-probable stone-cold
country hit in his  latest single release, ‘Blame It On Waylon.'”
Mary Jane Farmer, Scene In Town
A February video shoot for “Blame It On Waylon”
is being planned in Nashville and fans can expect a throwback feel to
the days of real country when the lyrical heroes wore scuffed cowboy
boots, worn-in hats and played in whiskey-soaked bars with beat-up
guitars that could tell a story or two.
“Blame It On Waylon,” is the first single from Cassidy’s sophomore album, KEEP IT COUNTRY, due to hit shelves in May 2013. Hunt, who has worked with such artists as Steve Holy, LeAnn Rimes, and Perfect Stranger,
will be at the helm as producer. The compilation will feature two of
Cassidy’s self-penned tunes as well as the songwriting credits of such
acts as Vern Gosdin, Hank Cochran, Larry Bastian, Jamey Johnson, and Jerrod Nieman.
Known
by his fans for having an energetic live show filled with emotion and a
good time, Cassidy has been hitting the road with some of the best: Eli Young Band, Kevin Fowler, Easton Corbin, The Band Perry, Montgomery Gentry, Joe Nichols and a host of others.
There’s
sure to be no slow down as Cassidy  gears up for this release by
heading out to radio stations, fairs, festivals and shows where he is
always accessible for meet and greets with fans.
