JAMES OTTO’S EXCLUSIVE INTERVIEW WITH KIX BROOKS ABOUT USO TOUR FEATURED ON ACCTOP40.COM FOR THE MONTH OF MAY IN HONOR OF MEMORIAL DAY

Nashville, Tenn. (Friday, May 13, 2011)–In honor Memorial Day, Kix Brooks and country-soul hit-maker James Otto sat down for an exclusive interview about James’ recent USO Tour to the Middle East as part of American Country Countdown with Kix Brooks. Today through Monday, May 30, 2011, fans can click HERE to hear what Otto gathered from his experience overseas and what the troops told him it meant to have a few moments of relief listening to music in the midst of a warzone. Moreover, segments of the interview will air Memorial Day weekend on syndicate radio stations across the nation. For a full list of syndicated stations, visit www.ACCTop40.com.

A two-year U.S. Navy veteran and the son of a drill sergeant, Otto has a deep respect for those in the armed forces. His self-penned song, “Soldiers and Jesus” pays tribute to the only two people that would lay down their lives for someone else without having ever met them– soldiers and Jesus. “When I wrote that song, I had my dad and my grandfather in mind. Those soldiers out there are sacrificing everything for us so that we can continue to live in a free and safe society.”

In the interview, Otto reflected on how the USO Tour brought back memories of his own experience of being stationed in Guam in the U.S. Navy as a 19-year-old. “Being in the Navy made a man out of me,” he said. “I have great memories of seeing over 20 countries, and really growing as a person. That’s something that I know my dad wanted for me. The service gave me the discipline and perseverance to move to Nashville and follow my dreams.”
