NASHVILLE, TN (September 19, 2013) – Chart-topping vocalist Jake Owen adds new meaning to “Shake, Rattle & Roll” as he teams up with Saint Thomas Health for the annual ROCK THE CRADLE charity event presented by the Academy of Country Music
(ACM). The evening will be held on Tuesday, 10/29 at 6:30P at the
Loveless Barn in Nashville, TN and benefits newborns in need at Saint
Thomas Midtown Hospital. Hosted each fall by the Saint Thomas Health
Foundation, this year’s ROCK THE CRADLE will feature cocktails, dinner,
live auction and a special performance by Jake.
“Lacey and I are so thankful everyday
for our daughter Pearl. She has changed our lives for the better,”
shared Jake Owen. “What ‘Rock The Cradle’ does to help newborns in need
is incredible. I’m honored to give back and be a part of this event.“
“Jake is a friend to the Academy and
has consistently given his time to ACM charitable endeavors, including
participating in ACM Lifting Lives Music Camp in June,” said Tiffany
Moon, Executive Vice President/Managing Director of the Academy of
Country Music. “We are delighted to support Jake’s generous spirit by
sponsoring ROCK THE CRADLE.”
In the past three years, ROCK THE
CRADLE has raised more than $500,000 to support obstetrics care and the
Beaman Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at Saint Thomas Midtown Hospital.
Thanks to the generosity of donors, thousands of babies and their
families have benefited from cutting-edge technology and financial
assistance to those with urgent needs. With ongoing community support
through events like ROCK THE CRADLE, Saint Thomas Midtown Hospital
continues to provide expert care that is both life-changing and
life-saving.
“The Saint Thomas Health Foundation is
able to provide essential financial and emotional support to these
families, helping minimize stress and allowing them to focus on caring
for their new family member,” said Bernie Sherry, president and CEO of
Nashville Inpatient Operations for Saint Thomas Health. “From support
for innovative technology to ensuring families have a place to stay so
they can be near their baby, the proceeds from ROCK THE CRADLE make a
significant difference in the lives of our tiniest patients and their
families.”
Funding from the Saint Thomas Health
Foundation has helped renovate and equip Saint Thomas Midtown Hospital’s
NICU, provide continuing education for nurses and other staff and
assist families who have a critical need because their baby is in the
NICU.
Co-chairs Connie Bradley and Troy Tomlinson created ROCK THE CRADLE and have led the effort for the past three years.
