This very good acoustic CD was recorded at Rhythmic
Vision Studios in Des Moines, Iowa. First thing I would say to the
engineer who mastered it….’please’ let the vocals come out front so we
can understand every word. There is some beautiful poetic messages
here, unfortunately I could not hear properly all that was being
said/sang simply because the mix on the guitars was overpowering the
vocals. Now with that out of the road, here’s a remarkable CD of
remarkable young people writing and recording some powerful messages.
This is a delightful duo made up of Marc Bailey and Sara Williams living
mostly in the Mitchellville, Iowa area. They describe themselves as
someone who sings, plays, and breathes life into dead air.

They both play acoustic guitar, and the interchange of
the chording styles and methods is quite unique. I would like a little
acoustic bass in the process, but that is purely subjective listening,
and this duet has their own style already laid out, and they are
obviously having a great time blending and melding their strings into a
compromise of what two acoustic guitars can do in similar surroundings.
Same holds true for their vocalizing harmonizing. They pass the lead
back and forth with ease, and when they blend their voices together they
have a very consummating pleasant sound, sometimes soft and sweet,
sometimes very stern and demanding, commanding, recommending.

This very nice young couple is also very dedicated to
the essence of God, and the magnificent gifts bestowed upon us lowly
humans. They keep that delicate relationship in tact throughout this
adventure.

I like ‘young’ music, especially if it is acoustic. I
firmly believe that musical instruments are simply the ‘method’ to set
the vocal at it’s best interpretation. This duo performed on the
‘church’ stage at the annual old-time music convention and festival in
LeMars in 2012, and attracted quite a large amount of ‘talk’ among our
regular attendees, most of whom are over the age of 50. All of this
‘talk’ was about how well they performed together, and probably more
frequently how well they played their Gibson and Martin guitars
‘together.’ I’m sure they will be asked back again in 2013, for
according to many of the younger attendees at this large acoustic music
festival, there is a stage with Marc and Sara’s name on it.
Congratulations youngun’s for a job well done.
