Interview with Western Avenue

Interview with Western Avenue

Lamitschka:  How was the last year for you? What were your
highlights?

Western Avenue:  The last year has been a crazy ride for us!
Some of the highlights include releasing our first single to Canadian
Radio last July (Highway Headin’ Out of Town), shooting our first
pro music video (This I Promise You), the release of our self-titled
Debut EP, being nominated for Group of the Year at the 2013 CMAO
Awards, signing with MTS & opening up for REBA & Trace Adkins
at the Havelock Country Jamboree!

Lamitschka:  Do you write the songs yourself? If not, how do
you go about finding the songs for your CD?

Western Avenue:  Collectively, we all wrote the music on our
latest EP with the help of an amazing Canadian Lyricist – Dave
Woods. We have so many songs right now that the difficult part was
narrowing down our Album! Haha. There were a few gems left over from
the album that will probably surface in the years ahead.

Lamitschka:  Your current single is being played by radio.
What do you feel is special about this song that makes people want to
hear it?

Western Avenue:  First of all, we are thrilled that our song
has been picked up by Country Radio! It’s always very surreal to
hear your own music on the radio while you’re driving down the
highway. I believe soo many people can relate to our newest single
Wherever You Are. Everyone has somebody in their life that they miss
& this song has resonated with people across the globe. The
coolest thing for us is hearing stories about how this song has been
played as the first dance at numerous weddings this past summer! We
are truly blessed!

Lamitschka:  How much creative control do you have over your
music?

Western Avenue:  Right now, we have full creative control &
we absolutely love it! On our past album we worked with the amazing
Adam Newcomb of Newcomb Studios! With the final production of the
album, we were all on the same page. We can see ourselves working
with Adam for years to come!!

Lamitschka:  As an artist, you so many tasks such as
recording, touring, interviews. What do you like best, what’s your
favorite activity?

Western Avenue:  The best part is being able to connect with
our fans all over the world! In this day in age, it’s soo easy to
stay connected with things like Facebook & Twitter. We love
hearing their stories on how our music has affected their lives for
the better!

Lamitschka:  What drives you?

Western Avenue:  The one thing that drives me personally is
my commitment to realize my full potential. I work on
self-improvement every single day & am an advocate of filling my
head with positive information throughout each day! It’s my goal
to be the best person I can be!

Lamitschka:  Is there any place you haven’t played that you
would like to?

Western Avenue:  We for sure want to take a trip & see
all our fans in Europe, Japan & Australia! We’ll get there!

Lamitschka:  What can your fans expect to see when they see
you in concert?

Western Avenue:  You can expect to see us having the time of
our lives on stage! We truly love to play & we believe it comes
across as well as our gratitude on stage!

Lamitschka:  When you’re on tour, do you have time to play
tourist?

Western Avenue:  We try to play tourist as much as possible!
That’s the one really cool thing about playing in a band, is
getting to see a lot of towns that we normally wouldn’t see!
Soundchecks are usually around 5pm each day, so that gives us lots of
tourist time!

Lamitschka:  Many music fans today get their information
about artists online. Do you have your own website and what will fans
find there?

Western Avenue:  Yes we do! Our website is
www.westernavenue.ca
& fans will find links to all our music, our Facebook page,
twitter feed, photos, blog, etc. If people sign up for our mailing
list, we also give away a free download off our album!

Lamitschka:  What message would you like to send your
European fans?

Western Avenue:  That we are soooo grateful for your
support!! We love you guys like you wouldn’t believe & we hope
to come see you sometime soon!!
