Interview with TRAVELLIN ROSE

Interview with TRAVELLIN ROSE

Lamitschka:  Music has many new fans throughout Europe who
may be hearing about you for the first time. How would you describe
yourself and the music you play to someone who has never seen or
heard you?

TRAVELLIN ROSE:

we are two young women from the UK committed to raising the
awareness of country music within the uk and we hope to make our own
stamp on country music ourselves. We wrote our debut album ourselves,
and it was recorded in Nashville 2012. Our sound is very traditional,
with a twist, the album has been compared to Loretta lynn and Miranda
Lambert….so a bit of a mixture

Lamitschka:  How was the last year for you? What were your
highlights?

TRAVELLIN ROSE:

we have had an amazing year!! We finished recording our debut
album ‚Cinderella Dreaming‘ in nashville, performed at the
brilliant wolvestock festival, were nominated for 2 awards at the
BCMA Awards, won a BCMA horizon award, we asked by CMA to represent
the uk at their global artisit show in Nashville, and featured twice
in the british national newspaper The Daily Star!! And now we have
the album released we have been nonstop trying to promote….so we
have had a busy, but fun year!!!

Lamitschka:  What is your latest CD and how’s it doing?

TRAVELLIN ROSE:

We have just released our debut album CINDERELLA DREAMING it has
recieved some great reviews, and all feedback we have recieved has
been positive, we feel the album has a good mix of different styles
of country so there should be a song that would suit every type of
country fan…..well we hope : )

Lamitschka:  Do you write the songs yourself? If not, how do
you go about finding the songs for your CD?

TRAVELLIN ROSE:

yes we wrote the album ourselves x

Lamitschka:  What kind of songs do you like to record the
most?

TRAVELLIN ROSE:  COUNTRY, doesnt matter what kind, we love
all the sub genres that originate from country music…..so as long
as its country we will love it

Lamitschka:  How much creative control do you have over your
music?

TRAVELLIN ROSE:  Cinderella Dreaming is our baby, and we did
have a big say in what we wanted, and i think the album varies so
grately, so we could appeal to most country fans….but the producers
and record label had to pull the reins in a bit as we do both have
quite alternative tastes in our music

Lamitschka:  Who inspires you musically and how deep do your
musical roots run?

TRAVELLIN ROSE:

Alot of artists inspire us in day to day life as well as our music

Hank williams (snr, jnr and 3) Miranda Lambert, Pistol Annies,
Loretta Lynn, Patsy cline…..the list is endless

Lamitschka:  What do you think about today’s music scene
versus its post and where do you see it going in the future?

TRAVELLIN ROSE:  i think country music on the whole is doing
just fine! There are alot of people doing lots of different things
and bringing country to a wider audiance. Which is always good. If we
all stick together and we all have the same aim (to make country
music grow) then i hope we will see country music get the
appreciation it deserves world wide x

Lamitschka:  As an artist, you so many tasks such as
recording, touring, interviews. What do you like best, what’s your
favorite activity?

TRAVELLIN ROSE:  i think we love it all, from writing your
music and seeing it grow into a song, and then a finished product is
an amazing experiance in itself, but it is a great joy to then bring
those songs to an audiance and see them interpreting you song and
enjoying it the way you dreamed they would x

Lamitschka:  Before you became a star, were your friends and
family supportive or was it a struggle?

TRAVELLIN ROSE:  family has been whats helped us get where we
are, our families are so supportive and we are eternally grateful for
them

Lamitschka:  What inspired you to become an artist?

TRAVELLIN ROSE:  our love of country music

Lamitschka:  What inspired you to become a songwriter?

TRAVELLIN ROSE:  it just happened, froma child i have always
made up song and poems, and it just felt right to put pen to paper

Lamitschka:  What’s unique about you that will differentiate
you from other artists?

TRAVELLIN ROSE:  we both live in caravans on Trailer Parks,
and our songs pretty much some us up, we may get rowdyand like having
a good time, but we are sincere in our music and work hard to do what
we are doing x

Lamitschka:  When you get time off, how do you like to relax?

TRAVELLIN ROSE:  we both like to spend time with our
families, and do more writing, not very rock and roll hey!!

Lamitschka:  Is there anything in your life that you would
change if you could?

TRAVELLIN ROSE: we are both true;y blessed and there is nothing we
would want to change, as life is a lesson, and even things that have
happened that have not been planned but they have been lessons
learned which has put us where we are today

Lamitschka:  Is there any place you haven’t played that you
would like to?

TRAVELLIN ROSE:  THE RYMAN!!!!!!

Lamitschka:  Many music fans today get their information
about artists online. Do you have your own website and what will fans
find there?

TRAVELLIN ROSE:  www.TravellinRose.com

Lamitschka:  What’s the best compliment a fan has ever given
you?

TRAVELLIN ROSE:

‚whilst in Nashville a very lovely lady said

“girls you are so amusing i could watch you all day, you should
have your own show or something…..omg and you can sing“
