What’s the story behind “Get Got”
You just did your 10th USO tour this past year. Why do you do that every year and what does it mean to those that you go see?
I wanted to talk about your new single “I Like Girls that Drink Beer” – I love the story about your friend at the country club and how she inspired the song.
You’ve had some promising new acts out on tour with you. Brantley Gilbert & Thomas Rhett. What kind of advice could you give them for the longevity of their career? Because they said that being on the road with you was kind of like getting an education.
I wanna talk a little bit about the ‘Deluxe’ version of the album. How many ways can you re-mix a Red Solo Cup? It seems endless (laughter)
It was widely reported that you were one of the original ones that American Idol offered or talked to about being a judge on the show. Can you talk about why you turned down that position and what you think about having a Country act on that panel?
Tell me about the song (& album title) “Hope on the Rocks”.
To me, Hope on the Rocks could be about the Hope on the Rocks at the bar, but also about your ‘hope’ is on the rocks, it’s gone. Did you mean for that to happen? Did you do that on purpose?
Your bars, the ‘ Toby Keith’s I Love This Bar & Grill’s” keep expanding. What was your idea to make this a place for your fans, what’s your contribution?
You’ve had tremendous success with your videos. Red Solo Cup, obviously. Incredible song, incredible video. Tell me about your current video “I Like Girls That Drink Beer” and why you wanted to shoot it on location at one of your shows and the things you brought to that video that made it a little different?
With all that you have going on, independent of your music career, how do you stay so connected to your fans?
