Interview with Michelle Wright

Interview with Michelle Wright
Lamitschka:  What is your
latest CD and how’s it doing?Michelle Wright: My newest cd is
“STRONG”.  It was just released. I co-wrote 10 of the
11 songs so I’m excited to have it out there. Looking forward to
seeing how people respond to the songs.

Lamitschka:  How
did you choose the title for the CD?  Is there a story behind
the name?

Michelle Wright:  The CD is called Strong. I
love that word and its my current single along with a video. The song
was written as a result of the many encounters I’ve had with strong
women who inspire me.

Lamitschka:  Do you write songs
yourself? If not, how did you go about finding the songs for your
album?

Michelle Wright: Yes, I write many of the songs that I
record but I will also record songs by other writers.

Lamitschka:
Please tell us about the songs on your album (influences,
etc).

Michelle Wright: This album comes from a place of hope
and inspiration. There is a little humor on the CD as well as just
honest emotion from sadness to joy.

Lamitschka:  Who
inspires you musically and how deep do your musical roots
run?

Michelle Wright: I’m inspired everyday by many different
Artists from Taylor Swift to Bruno Mars. Different Artists inspire me
for different reasons. It may be the songwriting, the singing or just
how they handle themselves. I listen to all kinds of music…
Country, Pop, Soul.

Lamitschka:  As an artist, you
so many tasks such as recording, touring, interviews. What do you
like best, what’s your favorite activity?

Michelle Wright: I
love all of it, it’s a privilege. That doesn’t mean it’s easy because
sometimes it can be very challenging but it’s something that I’m
driven to do. Picking up a guitar and singing a song comforts
me.

Lamitschka:  What inspired you to become a
songwriter?

Michelle Wright: I’m an observer of life, of
people and how we respond to things. Human beings fascinate me. I’m
also very tuned into people and their emotions and certainly my own
and I have a desire to express that. There is a very strong
connection that happens between words and music and the heart and to
be able to make that connection with myself and other people as a
writer is powerful and I feel that it’s important.

Lamitschka:
When you get time off, how do you like to relax?

Michelle
Wright: At home with my husband and our five dogs or anyplace by the
beach. I also like to garden and I’m growing a little orchard with
peaches, pears, plumbs, apples and cherries.

Lamitschka:  Is
there any place you haven’t played that you would like to?

Michelle
Wright: I have travelled around the world doing shows and have been
to so many amazing places. I would love to play in
Japan.

Lamitschka:  Many music fans today get their
information about artists online. Do you have your own website and
what will fans find there?

Michelle Wright: I love social
networking. I think it’s great that we can have direct contact with
the fans, after all it’s their support that allows an artist to do
what we do. My website is www.michelle-wright.com and
that site will tell you everything you need to know about what I’m up
to and will also give you the links to my Facebook and my Twitter
page for a more day to day connection.
