Interview with Little Big Town

Lamitschka: Music has many new fans throughout
Europe who may be hearing about you for the first time. How would you
describe yourself and the music you play to someone who has never
seen or heard you?

LBT: We are a 4 part harmony (Karen Fairchild,
Kimberly Schlapman, Jimi Westbrook, Philip Sweet) that sings mainly
country style music.

Lamitschka: How was the last year for you? What were
your highlights?

LBT: It has been fantastic as we have released the
new single of our new album. The single is called pontoon and the
album is called tornado.. the single Pontoon went to No 1 – our
first no 1 in the billboard country charts!

Lamitschka: How did you choose the title for
the CD? Is there a story behind the name?

LBT: Tornado is the title of the album and we named
it this because the recording process was so fast and over whelming.
It was all finished in three weeks.

Lamitschka: Do you write the songs yourself? If not,
how do you go about finding the songs for your CD?

LBT: We wrote about half of the songs on this album.
We then listen to others and see if we connect to them at all and if
we do we will reord it.

Lamitschka: Your current single is being played by
radio. What do you feel is special about this song that makes people
want to hear it?

LBT: It is such a laid back summer track that the
fans just connected to it. They request it all the time on radio so
it got great airplay.

Lamitschka: What will your next single be?

LBT: Tornado

Lamitschka: What is your favorite song among
all the songs you have recorded and what’s the story behind it?

LBT: From this album we love the lyrics of Cant
Go Back. It is a beautifully written song. You cant always go back  â€“
becasue the moment may be gone.
“How am
i going to make it better if i cant go back because you let them slip
away“ It means so much to us because of our career and hw hard we
have worked at it. We are now having the time of our lives.

Lamitschka: There’s a lot of work that goes into a
number one hit. What did it take to make it in your case?

LBT: The fans made it no 1. And we are so
grateful that they loved Pontoon

Lamitschka:  Do you have any interesting stories
about how fans have been affected by your music?

LBT: Yes we have travelled performed in Afghanistan
and other military basis where the american armed forces are. We
realise how much our music keeps them going. Our music or some tracks
can give them comfort.

Lamitschka: As an artist, you so many tasks
such as recording, touring, interviews. What do you like best, what’s
your favorite activity?

LBT: We love everything about being in the music
business. Love recording, the whole process of writing, creative
juices, recording and getting the final track to  come together
is fantastic. Then when the fans learn the song and if you are then
performing it there is nothing greater then to see the fans singing
the song back to you.

Lamitschka: What has been your greatest
challenge in music business?

LBT: It is so important that you remember who you are
and what you want. You get loads of opinions thrown at you all the
time from every angle, you just have to stick to your guns and ensure
yu get what you want creatively.

Lamitschka: When you get time off, how do you
like to relax?

LBT: With our family and friends and what we call
playing house. Where we cook clean and live with our families.

Lamitschka: Is there anything in your life that you
would change if you could?

LBT: We would like to carry on the commercial success
that we are seeing at the moment. We would like to to some headlines
across USA and come to Europe.

Lamitschka: Do fans mob you everywhere you go
or do they respect your privacy?

LBT: No not really they recognise us but they are
very sensitive to our personal lives. We are honoured that they want
to meet us/
