HIT SONGWRITERS TO SUPPORT FORMER AMERICA’S GOT TALENT CONTESTANT BATTLING CANCER FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 5 AT DOUGLAS CORNER CAFÉ

$10 Evening Benefit to Raise Money for Kacey Jones from 6-8pm

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (January 29, 2016)
Nashville’s most talented and eclectic songwriters will perform their
chart-topping hits, including “If Tomorrow Never Comes,” “Ain’t Goin’
Down Till the Sun Comes Up,” “Talkin’ in Your Sleep” and many more, next
Friday, February 5 at Douglas Corner Cafe (2106 8th Ave S, Nashville,
TN) to benefit Kacey Jones. Jones is battling stage-3 colorectal cancer
with alternative medicine and treatments not covered by insurance. Door
cover charge is only $10 per person.

Jones, a professional singer/songwriter/musician, and a contestant
last year on America’s Got Talent, was diagnosed in January 2014. “I was
told my ‘only hope’ was a protocol of chemo and radiation five days a
week, followed by an extremely radical surgery, followed by six more
months of chemo. That scared the heck out of me. I’m not afraid of
dying, but I have a healthy fear of being poisoned, burned, and
butchered,” Jones said.

Since then, Jones sought alternative treatments from licensed MDs as
well as holistic and homeopathic doctors and, thus far, her cancer has
not metastasized. “My vital organs are clear and I’m still in one piece,
so I know we’re doing SOMETHING right,” Jones said. However, her
alternative treatments and therapies are not covered by insurance.

“I’m not cancer-free yet, but I believe I will be if I can just stay
on this wellness path that I began nearly two years ago,” Jones said.

In an effort to support Jones, Nashville’s elite songwriters will
perform their iconic hits to help raise money for their dear friend.

Scheduled to perform, include Kent Blazy (“If Tomorrow Never Comes,”
“Ain’t Goin’ Down Till the Sun Comes Up” for Garth Brooks), Alan Rhody
(“I’ll Be True to You” for The Oak Ridge Boys), Cory Batten (“Gettin’
You Home,” for Chris Young and “She Wouldn’t Be Gone” for Blake
Shelton), Rafe Van Hoy (“Baby I Lied” for Deborah Allen and “Golden
Ring” by George Jones & Tammy Wynette), Roger Cook (“One Night at a
Time” for George Strait) and “Talkin’ in Your Sleep” for Crystal Gayle),
Wood Newton (“Riding With Private Malone” for David Ball, “Bobbie Sue”
for The Oak Ridge Boys and “Twenty Years Ago” for Kenny Rogers).

Additional writers on the show include: Doug Gill, Jim Parker, Lynn
Langham, Jim Sales, and Jonmark Stone (all of whom have hits and cuts
with major label artists). Jones is also scheduled to play a few
original tunes, including “Donald Trump’s Hair,” which is currently
enjoying nationwide airplay on more than 1,000 stations, including
News-Talk giant KABC Radio Los Angeles and legendary 650 AM WSM in
Nashville.
