Hannah Trim That Ain’t Love

That Ain’t Love – an emotional new single by Hannah Trim

By Alan Shipston for Country Music News International Magazine

Hannah Trim pulls you into the emotionally charged That Ain’t Love and doesn’t let go until the final reverb drenched guitar chords hang in the air.  This English singer songwriter from Lyme Regis, Dorset in South West UK brings her top game with a sensitive yet sultry look into what defines the limitations of love.  The song is a powerful reminder not to settle for less, but to choose the right path moving forward.

That Ain’t Love kicks off with an electric guitar arpeggiating through an A suspended chord setting up the right amount of liquid  tension and elevating the dream like atmosphere of the song. Acoustic guitar strums through the first verse under slide guitar fills while Trim is giving sage advice to a friend who is doubting herself with vocal lines like,” Hey girl, I know you been down and your heart’s been dragged around, You think it’s you, that you’re not good enough, but girl, that ain’t true.”

The wistful chorus reinforces Hannah’s perspective as she sings, “You’ll never be the right girl for the wrong guy, he’ll take your time and leave you cryin, and one day you’ll realize you lost yourself.”  Drums and bass compel the mid tempo ballad to move forward while still keeping a hypnotic restrained aura to the arrangement. The composition is constructed with meticulous thought and space is wisely given for each instrument to shine. Hannah Trim had this to offer about her song, “That Ain’t Love is about being real and cutting through the noise.  It’s one woman telling another the hard truth that if someone isn’t willing to fight for you, then it isn’t love, no matter how much you want it to be.”

Following up on the success of her 2024 Nashville recorded debut single, Where I’m Meant To Be and then Guy Who Stole My Heart, Hannah has proven in the last few years that she is an exciting and gifted country artist. Inspired by her Granddad’s rock ‘n roll band, Trim picked up the guitar at an early age quickly finding her voice in music listening to the sounds of classic country legends.

That Ain’t Love has a fresh modern edge that will surely earn Hannah Trim new fans and make her existing audience happy that she is still writing great songs.
