Hank Williams, Sr. and the Liberty Theater

This
past weekend marks the anniversary of the death of ‘real’ country music
superstar, Hank Williams, Sr., and the Liberty Theater in Eunice,
Louisiana, is going to remember by hosting a two and a half hour Hank
Williams music show.  Sheila and I once owned ten acres very near
Eunice, and was pleased to have Happy Valley June Campbell and her
husband Jerry visit us there.  We took them to the Liberty Theater way
back then.  Normally, it’s a very traditional Cajun music show, but the
one this weekend will consist of Hank’s songs in chronological order,
revealing how he evolved into a constantly better songwriter.  He
recorded 35 singles that placed in the top-10, including eleven that
were number one.
