If you love heavenly harmonies that blend and sail across the air like clouds crossing a highland mountain top, then this will be music you love. On this outing Becky and Jo-Ann, along with Sliding Smiffy, aka Brian Smith give us a great sounding album that showcases their songwriting as well as the girl’s angelic voices and Brian Sliding Smiffy, slide guitar at its best!

The title track Always by My Side rolls with sweet dobro and the girls vocals sound like two of Emmy Lou Harris singing together. The tracks are graced with some of the best players in the business, the Haley’s brought in great musicians from Nashville, that play for groups like Doyle Lawson & Quicksilver’s Joe Dean on banjo and Waylon Jennings steel and bass player Robbie Turner. On the song Looking for Someone Just Like You, they get a little edgy and sassy sounding. A favorite track for everyone is Hello Dad, it pulls at the heart strings of all of whom miss their dad, or even those still here, it is a fitting tribute to fathers everywhere.

A highlight of the album is Would You Lay with Me (in a field of stone), this is a fantastic cover of this great hit! Once again harmonies will soothe your ear. Then on their self-written smash, Can’t Walk Away from the Blues, they give us a good taste of edgy bluesy Bluegrass, with a rolling banjo that sounds like you are in the heart of the Blue Ridge Mountains of Carolina, across the big pond from their home in the UK. England swings with this great album. A must have for lovers of great music everywhere. Another great album from Comet Records and the Haley Sisters.
