“WINE,
WOMEN AND SONG,” FEATURING GRETCHEN PETERS, MATRACA BERG AND SUZY
BOGGUSS, RETURNS TO NASHVILLE ON JULY 23 AT THE LISTENING ROOM TO
BENEFIT MUSIC & MEMORY

Lori McKenna to Open with Acoustic Set

NASHVILLE, TENN.  — (July 14, 2015) — “Wine, Women and Song,” featuring Gretchen Peters, Matraca Berg and Suzy Bogguss, returns to Nashville on July 23 at The Listening Room for a fundraiser to benefit MUSIC & MEMORY℠. Hit songwriter Lori McKenna
(“Girl Crush,” “I Want Crazy”) will perform an acoustic set to open the
show. This is the first time in over a year that the acclaimed trio has
performed together and the first Nashville MUSIC & MEMORY event.

MUSIC & MEMORY℠ is a non-profit organization that brings personalized
music into the lives of the elderly or infirm through digital music
technology, vastly improving their quality of life. The organization
trains nursing home staff and other elder care professionals, as well as
family caregivers, on how to create and provide personalized playlists
using iPods and related digital audio systems that enable those
struggling with Alzheimer’s, dementia and other cognitive and physical
challenges to reconnect with the world through music-triggered
memories.
By providing access and education, and by creating a
network of MUSIC & MEMORY℠ Certified elder care facilities, the goal
is to make this form of personalized therapeutic music a standard of
care throughout the health care industry.

Universal Music Publishing’s Cyndi Forman, who volunteers weekly at a
Nashville nursing home, discovered the program and soon found that there
weren’t any nursing facilities in Nashville that were involved with
MUSIC & MEMORY℠.

“We
see the power of music every week and have started bringing in iPods
and playing music for the patients and it truly is incredible,” said
Forman.  “We just want to bring awareness to the organization as well as
raise money to help fund the program in nursing homes in the area.”

The group is also asking for donations of old iPods iPhones, and iTunes
gift cards. MUSIC & MEMORY℠ will take the donated devices, wipe them
clean, and load them with personalized playlists for individual
patients. There will be someone on hand the night of the show to collect
them.

Tickets are $20 and can be purchased at www.listeningroomcafe.com/calendar.  All proceeds go directly to MUSIC & MEMORY℠.
