Georgia Nevada proves she’s not just another Cookie Cutter
By Alan Shipston for Country Music News International Magazine
Known for powerful vocals and lyrical storytelling, Georgia Nevada brings a blend of country, rock and blues with her latest single, Cookie Cutter, from her highly anticipated debut album, BackFire, dropping in March 2026. Cookie Cutter begins with full band, hard hitting fermatas that harken back to an 80’s power rock trio sound. As the last hit of the intro sustains, a lone distorted electric guitar languidly twirls and tumbles into the first verse, while Nevada snarls out the country infused lyric,
Smile and be polite, bite your tongue
And take your time
Go on, speak for me
Say what you wanna say
But you know that I don’t work that way
As the band shifts towards the chorus, Edd Robinson on guitar capably lays into the progression with prominent slashing chords backed by the powerful rhythm section of Alex Orefice on bass and Will Hewer playing drums. Georgia delivers the harmonized refrain with a dominant vocal reflecting Nevada’s refusal to conform to others’ expectations.
I got the mind of an outlaw
Dead set in her ways
And the heart of a cowboy
Ain’t a fan of playing games
And a mouth like a sailor
Hits like a scream
I’m not your cookie cutter dream
Speaking about the self-penned track, Georgia says, “Cookie Cutter is about choosing not to change yourself to fit someone else’s idea of who you should be. It’s written about personal experiences that I know aren’t just unique to me.” BCMA Female Vocalist of the Year nominee, NMG Americana Artist of the Year nominee and multiple Country iTunes number 1 artist, Georgia Nevada is shaking up the UK’s country rock scene. Originally from Stevenage, she now lives in Ely, Cambridgeshire, United Kingdom. Nevada is now a household name among UK country music and with sold-out shows and global radio play to her credit, Georgia continues to bring an authentic slice of country rock to audiences both in the UK and US.
Georgia is currently on tour with chart-topping Blues Rock duo, When Rivers Meet, on their 20-date UK-wide tour and has performed in landmark venues such as Islington Assembly Hall and The Glasshouse ICM. Nevada has also toured with the likes of Britnee Kellogg (The Road with Keith Urban and Blake Shelton) and Nashville’s Dan Smalley bringing transatlantic credibility to her name. Georgia is also consistently busy on the festival circuit, among them, headlining the VIP Stage at the UK’s newest and most anticipated country festival, Country Calling and has been announced as an artist on the ‘In It Together’ lineup in 2026.
Among the numerous positive reviews she has received, Rock the Joint Magazine offered this about Georgia, “Country music that knows how to rock in that dirty, laid-back southern style.” That nicely sums up Cookie Cutter – a blazing country rock song sure to grab the attention of the media.
