Flour Sack Cape Shares Video For Charlie Hager’s “Still With Me”
Charlie Hager is a Nashville native and
an excellent songwriter. His forthcoming record, American Saga, will be
available in the new year and is well worth the wait! Each song is
inspired by the current state of affairs in our country and touches on
global warming, gun violence and a longing for simpler times. “Still
With Me” is a folk / gospel song about the Oso, Washington mudslides. It
is based on an actual news report so sad, it seems unreal.

like Billy Jo Shaver, Willie Nelson, Waylon Jennings, and J.J. Cale.

In his youth, Charlie decided not
to attend high school in Nashville, but instead moved out the the
Tennessee countryside to a small rural high school in Trousdale County
which instilled in him his small town values. After graduation and a few
years at the University of Tennessee in Knoxville, he decided to join
the U.S. Marine Corps and travel the world. He soon began playing and
writing songs.

In 1991, he returned to Nashville and
began playing local venues like the world famous Bluebird Cafe. In the
summer of 1993, he got married and soon had 3 children to keep him busy,
placing his music on the inevitable back-burner. In 2011, after a
divorce and his kids nearly grown, Charlie returned to the Nashville
music scene, and, with the help of some of his musical friends began
playing shows and writing songs again. During the summer of 2015,
he started work on his very first album of original songs-American Saga,
due out early next year!
