Fern Miller
widow of the great Omaha mandolinist, Lyle Miller, passed away August
29th. Born and raised near O’Neill, Nebraska. She worked as a teacher
in the O’Neill & Holt County public schools, and as an office
manager at Jubilee Manufacturing during WWII, and later at Paramount
Furniture. In retirement she supported her husbands music making, and
helped develop the Omaha Heartland Senior Center. She and her husband
Lyle were inducted into America’s Old Time Country Music Hall of Fame
very early in the beginning of that honor.
