New Faces of Country Music: Hannah Ellis
Amber Otto for Country Music News International Magazine
When some think of wine country their mind may wander to places like Napa Valley, Tuscany Italy or even a small town in Pennsylvania called Northeast. A hidden gem known for its hardy grape vineyards that magically turn a loved fruit into delectable varieties of wine. But when turning up the dial and listening to some country music and getting acquainted with the genres newest, freshest faces, some may think of Hannah Ellis.
Her latest single “Wine Country” is out now for all country music fans to tune into as well as her song’s music video. The lyrics of her latest track describe how Ellis is the best of both worlds, and not just when it comes to wine. The Kentucky native reminds listeners though she may have room for the finer things in life that are often correlated with the city (a certain type of wine, long stemmed glasses, shiny diamond rings, sitting downtown in a city), at the heart of all she is and does, country will always reign. Her vibrant vocals and animated persona throughout the song entices one to believe the best of both worlds in the humblest of ways is without a doubt a possibility.
Hannah was a part of the CMT’s “Next Women of Country” Tour back in 2019 which began in Tampa Bay Flordia’s concert hall “The Orpheum” giving her the opportunity to share your life’s passion with ten other cities at famous venues across the nation. Through “Next Women of Country” she also toured with some of country’s best including the likes of Gavin DeGraw, Martina McBride, Jake Owen, Billy Currington and many more. She has also written songs that have been recorded for other country music A listers such as Carly Pearce, Russell Dickerson and Danielle Bradberry to name a few.
Before all of these big music strides, Hannah earned her stars and stripes by paying her way through college, being turned down on NBC’s “The Voice” in 2015, and moving away for her hometown Campbellsville, Kentucky to Nashville where she participated in songwriter’s rounds or circles, trying to make the right connections whilst hearing more no’s than yes’s. She previously mentioned in an article written by Blakely McHugh of “Celeb Secrets Country (July 10th 2022),” that being told no by NBC’s “The Voice” worked to her advantage as she came home with a publishing deal soon thereafter. Since then, it has only been full speed ahead for Ellis.
To hear more of Hannah Ellis, catch her on tour at venues such The Ledge Ampitheater in Waite Park, MN, The Vetter Stone Ampitheater of Mankato, MN and the Stifel Theatre of St. Louis, Missouri.
