Genre-fluid artist Drew Green is making waves again with the release of his dynamic 6-track EP, “Comin’ In Country.” This latest collection seamlessly fuses classic country swagger with a contemporary edge, showcasing Green’s versatility and knack for crafting infectious tunes.
Leading the charge is the focus track, “There Ain’t A Bar,” a compelling exploration of heartbreak that transcends the solace of any drink or establishment. Despite its sorrowful lyrical content, Green’s signature delivery, praised by All Country News for its effortless bounce, transforms the song into a surprisingly high-energy and feel-good anthem. It’s a testament to his ability to find the upbeat within the downbeat, a hallmark of his unique style.
The EP also features Green’s previously released track, “Hot Chicken,” a collaboration with Seth Alley, Heath Warren, and Jake Rose, produced by Mark Trussell and Alley. This tune garnered attention for its celebration of the simple pleasures of Southern living, painting vivid pictures of small-town life, from “Bush Baked Beans in the kitchen” to relaxed evenings “podunk front porch sitting.”

The EP’s title track, “Comin’ In Country,” released earlier this year, serves as an infectious anthem that paints a vivid picture of a captivating woman who has “the boys lined up like shots of Kentucky.” Green’s muse embodies a “here for a good time – not a long time” energy, a compelling blend of honky-tonk spirit and Hollywood allure. RECORDS Nashville artist Green, lauded by MusicRow for his “strong catalog that showcases his songwriting prowess,” continues to build on his collection of modern country hits with this latest offering.
In a celebratory gathering in Nashville this past January, surrounded by industry peers, friends, and family, Green marked the release of his song “Comin’ In Country.” The occasion also held a special surprise as Green and his co-writers were presented with Gold Record plaques for their widely popular track, “Good Ol’ Man,” which recently achieved RIAA Gold certification. “I’m so glad that we got to finally celebrate ‘Good Ol Man’ going Gold, and glad that it gets to be my first one,” Green expressed. “I’m so thankful to each and every fan for listening and helping this song go Gold.”
Born and raised on a tree farm in McMinnville, Tennessee, Green’s musical foundation was rooted in the sounds of classic country artists like Sammy Kershaw and Alan Jackson, introduced to him by his family. As a teenager, his musical horizons broadened through his friends, who exposed him to a diverse range of genres including hip-hop, pop, and R&B artists such as Usher, Craig David, Matchbox Twenty, and Dr. Dre. He honed his performance skills playing in bands throughout high school and continued to develop his songwriting abilities during his college years.
After graduation, Green made the move to Nashville, immersing himself in the city’s vibrant music scene. He took on the demanding schedule of singing in the house band at the legendary Tootsie’s Orchid Lounge while simultaneously working a day job at a bank, all in pursuit of his songwriting aspirations.
His dedication eventually paid off as he gained a foothold in the industry, co-writing notable songs like Florida Georgia Line’s “Colorado” with HARDY and Hunter Phelps. In November 2018, he signed a publishing deal with Brett James’ Cornman Music, followed by a record deal with Villa40/Sony Music Nashville. During this period, he amassed a string of streaming successes with tracks like “Little More Be Alright,” “She Got That,” “Hooch,” and the aforementioned “Good Ol’ Man.”
In 2024, Green embarked on a new chapter, signing with RECORDS Nashville and releasing his first EP under the label, “Whiskey On Whiskey.” The focus track of that EP was a reimagined version of “Colorado,” featuring a collaboration with his co-writer, HARDY. With the release of “Comin’ In Country,” Drew Green continues to solidify his position as a dynamic and innovative artist, seamlessly blending genres and delivering music that resonates with a wide audience. This latest EP is a testament to his growth and his ability to carve out a unique space in the contemporary country landscape.
