Dolly Parton is set to become a rock star. A global superstar for decades, Dolly is widely regarded as the queen of country music. Now, she will officially enter the world of rock music with her first-ever rock album, aptly titled Rockstar.

Rockstar is set for global release 17 November 2023 via Butterfly Records with distribution by Big Machine Label Group and will be available as a 4 LP set, a 2 CD set, digital download and on all streaming services.  For the new project, Dolly teamed up with an all-star roster of musicians for the 30-song collection which includes nine original tracks and twenty-one iconic rock anthems.

“I’m so excited to finally present my first Rock and Roll album Rockstar!” said Dolly.  “I am very honored and privileged to have worked with some of the greatest iconic singers and musicians of all time and to be able to sing all the iconic songs throughout the album was a joy beyond measure. I hope everybody enjoys the album as much as I’ve enjoyed putting it together!”

The lead track off Rockstar is the timely original “World on Fire” that was released May 11 and coincided with her appearance as co-host (with Garth Brooks) of the 58th Academy of Country Music (ACM) Awards.

Dolly was officially inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in November 2022. When she was nominated for consideration earlier in the year, she initially declined the nomination, saying at the time, “Even though I am extremely flattered and grateful to be nominated for the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, I don’t feel that I have earned that right.” Eventually, Dolly decided to accept the nomination that led to her induction. Dolly has stated that the recognition by the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inspired her to release a rock album.

Among the featured artists joining Dolly on some of the 30 tracks on Rockstar: Paul McCartney, Ringo Starr, Peter Frampton, Elton John, Sting, Steve Perry, Lizzo, Miley Cyrus, Steven Tyler, Debbie Harry and many more.

Achieving 27 RIAA-certified gold, platinum and multi-platinum awards, Dolly has had 26 songs reach #1 on the Billboard country charts, a record for a female artist. Parton is the first artist to have topped the Billboard Adult Contemporary, Christian AC Songs, Hot Country Songs, Christian Airplay, Country Airplay and Dance/Mix Show Airplay radio charts. She has 48 career Top 10 country albums, a record for any artist, and 110 career-charted singles over the past 50+ years.

To date, Parton has donated over 205 million books to children around the world with her Imagination Library. Her children’s book, Coat of Many Colors, was dedicated to the Library of Congress to honor the Imagination Library’s 100 millionth book donation.
