David Shelby —
12-Pack
  1. David,
what is your earliest musical memory?

“Coming from a proud Russian / Polish heritage was my father
getting me an accordion and getting accordion lessons from my
    father.”
  1. Name
a song, in any genre, that you wish you had written
    .
    — Pause, “That is hard question. “A Song For You,” by Ray
    Charles.”
  1. If
they made a movie about your life, what would it be called?

“Haha… “Never Take It Too Seriously.” (He smiles)
  1. If
you could be somebody else for a day, who would it be?

“I would to be President for a day, no matter who is in the
office. I really want to know, what really happened to JFK, and does
the pentagon have real aliens. I wanna use that day to learn all the
    secrets!”
  1. Outside
of music, what do you like to do to relax?

“Horses, I have several horses and I have my pilot’s license.
So in the air on the ground, I am happy.”
  1. If
you could have dinner with George Strait or George Washington,
which would it be and why?

“That’s another hard one. But I going to say George Strait. Not
to bug him about music or his career, because he seems like a really
cool guy, I’d ask him things like “Where do you like to fish?”
    … Just everyday living questions.”
  1. If
you live anywhere in the world, where would it be?

“Hands down Key West! It’s warm and beautiful….”
  1. If
you could record or perform a song with another artist or group, who
    would that “dream duet” be?

“Garth Brooks, he just seems to me to a great artist to have that
    opportunity with.”
  1. Who
are your heroes or role models, personally? “
    My
personal hero is my father. Being from Detroit, he was a mechanical
engineer and when he got laid off, he started from nothing with his
business in our basement to a very successful mechanical engineering
    firm. He is my hero.”

  1. Who
are your heroes or role models musically? “
    On
the professional level; Garth Brooks. He is my biggest influence.
Watching him as I was growing up is the reason I am doing music
today. The more I learned about the more respect I had for him as a
man and as a father wanting to put his kids first. I am really glad
he coming back to full time in the music.”
  1. Which
song or album are you listening to the most right now?

“A bunch of work CD’s and a bunch of demos, fortunately because
I am in the studio with my producer Teddy Gentry (Co-founder of
Alabama) working on my new project. So it’s all work instead
    playing “music” for fun.”
  1. If
you only have one CD for seven days on a deserted island, what
    artist would it be?

“Oh, wow — that’s another really hard question! Aughhh, Can it
be a box set?” (Ok, I’ll GIVE YOU THAT) Yea, Garth Brooks Boxed
    Set!!
