Crystal Gayle Sidelined by Injury, Withdraws from Upcoming Belfast Performance
By Christian Lamitschka for Country Music News International Magazine
Country music icon Crystal Gayle has been forced to cancel her highly anticipated appearance in Belfast next week following medical advice regarding a knee injury. The Grammy-winning singer, known for her timeless hits and legendary stage presence, was scheduled to be a centerpiece of the ‘Your Roots Are Showing’ conference.
Medical Condition Forces Travel Change
Gayle’s physician has advised against overseas travel after she sustained a torn meniscus in her knee. As a result, she will no longer be able to appear at the ‘FOLK iN FUSION: Nashville to Belfast’ opening concert at Waterfront Hall on Tuesday, January 13, or participate in the conference’s scheduled on-stage programming.
While Gayle is reportedly disappointed to miss the trip to Northern Ireland, her medical team has emphasized that recovery must take priority over the rigors of international flight.
“I was truly looking forward to coming to Belfast—singing a few songs, sharing some stories, and spending time with everyone,” said Crystal Gayle. “But my doctor tells me this knee isn’t ready for those overseas miles just yet. I promise I’ll be ‘Ready for the Times to Get Better’—just not at 30,000 feet next week. Thank you for your understanding, and I hope we can make it up to you soon.”
Attendees and ticket holders are encouraged to contact their original point of purchase or visit official conference channels for the most up-to-date information regarding the event schedule.
