About Kent Blazy:

Kent Blazy, growing up in Lexington, Kentucky, became musically inspired when he heard Roger McGuinn playing his Rickenbacker guitar on “Mr. Tamborine Man”. This created a new choice and Kent traded in his baseball glove for a guitar. He began his musical journey playing with a series of bands all over the eastern half of the country.

In 1987, Kent was introduced to a new demo singer by Bob Doyle, then with ASCAP, soon to be the manager for this emerging talent, Garth Brooks. Garth became Kent’s most requested demo singer and Bob Doyle also advised, “Garth writes a little bit too.”

The first song Garth and Kent penned together was “If Tomorrow Never Comes” which became the first number one song for both. The friendship and writing partnership continued as Garth included eight more of their songs on his albums. Four more captured the number one slot:

“Somewhere Other Than the Night”, “Ain’t Goin’ Down (‘Til the Sun Comes Up)”, “It’s Midnight Cinderella”, and “She’s Gonna Make It”

Sam Outlaw California Troubadour by Tom Bomb for Country Music News International

Sam Outlaw is one of those names that pops up. He’s worked with everyone from legendary roots guitarist Ry Cooder to critically acclaimed Americana singer-songwriter Michaela Anne. He describes his music as “SoCal Country”, a mixture of classic honky-tonk and troubadour pop. He was born under the name Sam Morgan on July 28, 1982 in Aberdeen, South Dakota. At age 10 he relocated to Southern California. Despite his love for music, he pursued a career in advertising but in his early thirties made the decision to switch to performing.

Dillon Carmichael. Music, Paychecks, And Longnecks. – by Tom Bomb for Country Music News International

Dillon Carmichael has it in his blood. He is the nephew of John Michael Montgomery and Eddie Montgomery. He definitely has the talent judging from his debut at the Grand Ole Opry. And his debut album in 2012 titled Hell Of An Angel was a spectactular effort that was produced by none other than Dave Cobb (Chris Stapleton, Jason Isbell, Sturgill SImpson). Carmichael’s sound can be defined as the Bakersfield sound meets the Outlaw Country sound lightly seasoned with a little Southern rock.

CD Review: Creed Fisher – Whiskey and the Dog – by Matt Belyea for Country Music News International

Creed Fisher is a self-proclaimed Redneck, Red-Dirt and Ready to Rumble Texan who came to music to express himself after a failed marriage and what seems to be self-reflection that has turned out an amazing set of music on this, his 11th release.  Although he’s only been in the music game for about a decade or so, his lyrical sense harkens back to Hank Jr, and is flush with heartbreak and resurrection and the bottom of a glass sometimes.  Let’s jump into this must listen record.
