Cookeville Gets Behind Up-and-Coming Country Artist Coy Taylor

COOKEVILLE, Tenn. — Promoters, local businesses and a CMA award-winning radio station are betting on the success of up-and-coming Country Artist Coy Taylor.

Taylor and his band will appear Saturday, April 16 at the Cookeville Expo Center (942 E. 10th Street, Cookeville), supported by  sponsoring station WGSQ Radio: The Country Giant, which was the 2010 CMA Small Market Station of the Year.  Additionally,  Clarion Inn is helping with promotion and offering 40% off room rates night of show.  The concert is sponsored by Miller Lite and is being promoted by the Cookeville Music Group.

“We saw Coy eight months ago at the Nashville Palace,” said Cookeville Music Group’s Randy Brewer.  “Three nights later he opened for Joe Diffie here in Cookeville, and he put on one heck of a show. Coy is the full package.  We immediately wanted to get behind him.”

Taylor has recently been working on his new album with Brady Seals (Little Texas) producing and featuring such guests as legendary Opry Star Little Jimmie Dickens.  Taylor has been generating a buzz for his live shows, too.

“WGSQ did a radio remote with Coy at The Clarion Inn last week where he played a few acoustic songs, signed some autographs and gave away some T-shirts.  There were people swarming all around him. After the remote, he went over and met a lot more people at Rodeo Bobs,” said Cookeville Music Group’s Doug Smith. “The manager got great response.  Coy is already finding a huge fan base here in Cookeville.”

Doors for the event Saturday, April 16, open at 7 p.m. Tickets are $10 in advance, $12 day of show.  For ticket information, call 931-260-5322 or visit www.coytaylor.com.
