Colt Ford breaks new ground with Country AF featuring Jay Webb

Colt Ford has a new album, Little Out There, dropping on November 7, 2025 and available everywhere. Country AF, featuring Jay Webb, is the first single release written by Michael Hardy, Jaren Johnston and Jesse Frasure. Blazing a new trail through this song, Ford begins with a quick acoustic guitar lick into a driving kick drum that sets up the 1-b7-4 progression. Colt’s roots are in rap, Southern rock and country and this unique combination is on complete display as he sings, “If your definition of a jukebox song is sad and lonely, if your first truck was a tractor,” only to continue characterizing the lyrics with, “You know Folsom on guitar, sipped on moonshine in the pasture, well chances are – you’re country.”
The band powers into the chorus while Colt reflects on what is means to be Country AF, “From New York City to ATL, where the girls stay pretty and the boys raise hell.” A banjo rhythmically rolls through the lines, “That’s a fifth of whiskey, that’s a Ford 150, Jack to the moon buddy you can bet, if that’s what you do, you’re country AF.” A short fiddle solo guides the listener into the next verse that has Jay Webb, “Talkin’ ‘bout a backwoods, backwards world, where Sue’s a boy and Bobby’s a girl, where God is good and grits are great.” Country AF never abandons it’s simple message of essentially describing the straight forward rules that identify what it is to be country.
Overcoming every heartbreaking obstacle that life has viciously thrown at him, Colt Ford has been standing tall since his debut in 2008, earning career defining accolades along the jagged path. “After everything I’ve been through, this album means more to me than anything I’ve ever done,” says Ford. “’Little Out There’ is about living life fully, appreciating second chances, and reconnecting with my fans in a real way. It’s been a hard road, but I’m excited to be here and sharing another album with the world.”
Since first bursting onto the scene with his groundbreaking blend of country and hip-hop, Georgia born Ford has become a cultural force, selling over three million copies, touring relentlessly, and collaborating with some of the biggest names in music such as Toby Keith, Brad Paisley, Keith Urban, Lady A and so many others. Ford co-wrote Jason Aldean’s hit song Dirt Road Anthem and Brantley Gilbert’s Country Must Be Country Wide, both songs reaching number one. Colt’s debut album, Ride Through the Country went gold and each of the subsequent releases earned critical praise, securing his place as country music’s ultimate independent maverick.
Looking back over his powerhouse career, Colt has this to offer, “I hope that fans as well as up and coming artists realize how much love and passion it takes to have a career as long as me. I have always tried to help other artists and always take time for the fans; they are the reason we are all here. I hope I leave a foundation that allows others to be successful and maybe, just maybe, write some cool songs.” Country AF is just another cool song in a long list from the arsenal of Colt Ford.
