“The song was so different than
anything we’ve done before, we gravitate to different types of
songs either with time signature, melody, lyrics. We’ve never done
a straight up drinking song and after hearing the opening guitar riff
to this song really got us to cut it. In doing a drinking song we
didn’t want it to sound forced and we tried to keep it as close to
the original and we really like what we came up with.”

“With “Even If It Breaks Your
Heart” we’d always wanted to cut the song and were totally
surprised that nobody had recorded it yet. Just so happy and
surprised at what happened to the song, it gains a bit of traction
then goes #1, I mean great. We’re so happy that it’s helped Will
(Hoge) and Eric (Paslay) out, you’ve never met two better guys.”

“We’ve been lucky enough to tour
with Flatts and Chesney the past two summers and what that has done
has made us change up our set lists on the fly. It used to be we
could close with “Even If It Breaks Your Heart,” or “Crazy
Girl,” but now man, one week “Drunk Last Night,” comes out and
the next week the crowd goes crazy and is singing it word for word.
It’s great to be in that place that people know ALL of our songs
not just the one’s on the charts.”

“Our plan from day one were to be
successful and Texas was part of it. Our goal was always to go out
and take over the world. Texas was/is that foundation. We’re
getting a chance to go back to some of those places on this tour and
it’s an honor to do that.”
