Nashville,
TN – May 31, 2013 – GRAMMY nominated vocalist and songwriter Chris
Stapleton will take a short break from his national radio tour for
performances during CMA Music Festival
and Bonnaroo in
the coming weeks.  On Friday, June 7 he will play at the Bud Light
Stage at Bridgestone Arena Plaza as part of CMA Music Festival, then
perform at the HGTV Lodge
 Saturday
morning followed by an autograph signing at the CMA booth in the Music
City Center.  The next weekend, on Saturday, June 15, Stapleton will
join the shortlist of country artists invited to play at Bonnaroo.

“It’s
such an honor to be playing at CMA Music Fest as we are in the middle
of introducing my first single to country radio.   I’m getting such
great feedback from the fans who are getting to hear it out on the road,
and I look forward to getting home to Nashville and playing it there
too,” said Stapleton.  “I’ve always felt like I fit in with a lot of
different circles of musicians – bluegrass, country, rock and roll – so
going from the biggest country music festival to playing a gig at
Bonnaroo the next week feels totally normal to me.”

Stapleton
is currently finishing up his debut album for Mercury, with the lead
single “What Are You Listening To?” set to hit radio in June.  Go behind
the scenes with Stapleton on the making of his first single here.

A
native of the small town of Staffordsville, KY (pop: 2400) and son of a
coal miner, Stapleton made the move to Nashville in 2001 to learn the
craft of songwriting and pursue a career in music.  A decade later, he
has scored four #1 country hits with songs penned for George Strait,
Kenny Chesney, Darius Rucker and Josh Turner, and has racked up over 170
album cuts for artists including Tim McGraw, Brad Paisley and Alan
Jackson.  Stapleton has already had a diverse singing career that
includes stints as lead vocalist for GRAMMY-nominated bluegrass band The
SteelDrivers and lead vocalist in the howling rock and roll band The
Jompson Brothers.
