NASHVILLE, TN (May 11, 2015) – Money might not bring you happiness, but for
Chris Janson,
it can buy him a boat and the truck to pull it. That real-life
sentiment is the fuel propelling Janson’s hot new single, “Buy Me A
Boat,” which was the most added song on Country Aircheck (MediaBase)
last week. “Buy Me A Boat” debuted on the Billboard Country Singles
(BDS) chart last week and continues to rise as the most added new song
this week.
It’s easy to see why fans and radio are championing Janson’s “Boat,”
which cleverly infuses a working man’s sentiment with an irresistible
melody. Co-written by Janson and Chris Dubois, the sunny summer anthem
features an easygoing vibe with guitars that growl like a supercharged
outboard motor.
“‘Buy Me A Boat’ came from a real natural place,” said Janson. “I like
trucks, Yeti coolers, and boats. And who wouldn’t like to be rich,” he
laughed. Declaring it the most delightful new song of the season, Music Row’s
Bob Oermann said, “The shuddering-twang guitar work; the
hillbilly-accented delivery; the wildly inventive lyric; the hook-filled
melody; the blue-collar message. It’s all here, and then some. In a
word, brilliant.”
Janson will spend most of his summer dry-docked with a heavy tour schedule that includes more than 20 shows on Toby Keith’s Good Times & Pick Up Lines
Tour, presented by Ford F-Series, major festivals and headline dates.
The nationwide tour kicks off May 29 at Shoreline Amphitheatre in
Mountain View, California.
With undeniable charisma, Janson brings a blue-collar, working-class,
boot-stomping hillbilly swagger to bear on every live performance,
earning him opening slots for Florida Georgia Line, music legends Merle
Haggard and Hank Williams Jr., as well as over 90 appearances at the
Grand Ole Opry. The talented songwriter began writing at just 18 with an
impressive group of musicians from the likes of Guns N’ Roses to the
esteemed Larry Gatlin and co-wrote Tim McGraw’s highest chart debut of
his career, “Truck Yeah.” The Perryville, Missouri native first broke
onto the music scene when he landed a year long, four show a day gig at
Tootsie’s Orchid Lounge on Nashville’s Lower Broadway. Janson is
currently writing songs for his debut album.
