Audience Encouraged to Bring an Unwrapped Toy to the Taping to Make
the Holidays Brighter for Area Children in Need
NASHVILLE – Some of the most
powerful and emotionally moving voices in music come together to celebrate the
holidays on “CMA Country Christmas,” which tapes in front of a live audience
Saturday, Nov. 7 (6:00 PM/CT;
doors open at 5:00 PM/CT), at the Grand Ole Opry House in Nashville. The special
airs this holiday season on the ABC Television Network.
“The special will tape on a new day and in a new
venue this year,” said Sarah Trahern, CMA Chief Executive Officer.
“The Opry was the home of the CMA Awards for many years and it is nice to be
back. And taping the show on Saturday is more convenient for Nashville families
who have made this part of their holiday traditions.”
Another popular feature of the taping is a toy drive
for deserving children. In 2014, through a partnership with ABC Television Network
and the U.S. Marine Corps’ Toys for Tots program, CMA collected more than 5,000
unwrapped gifts for deserving children in the region.
“Providing new toys for deserving children shines
a spotlight on a worthy endeavor and reflects the values and spirit of giving
found in our artists, industry, and city,” Trahern said. |
