These beautiful young girls came to the LeMars Festival in
2015 to accept their individual ‘Rising Legend’ awards, and what a treat
they were for our older audience.  The ‘folks’ just fell completely in
love with this foursome.  Every where they went, fans were following
them around.  They are so deserving of the awards they received.  Then
not long after their trip from Arkansas to be with us, I received this
incredibly lovely gospel album of the girls, and what a treat this is.  I
kind of wish I had waited a while to review it, so they would stand a
better chance of getting the ear of the Rural Roots Music Commission,
but a second listening convinced me this project will stand tall no
matter when they hear it.  It’s a totally lovely work of old-time
strictly American rural music.  The second song “Oh Come Angel Band”
which was such a treat from the movie ‘Oh Brother Where Art Thou’ is
done again here in that same absolutely genuinely perfectly full of soul
and vibrant musical harmony.  These girls are just the epitomize of
what good old-time rural music is all about.  Gabi plays the guitar and
sings lead vocals (which she does on this great song), joined by her
lovely music making friends, Anna on mandolin and lead vocals; Mary on
fiddle and lead vocals; Lyllyanne on banjo and lead vocals, and one of
the girl’s mom Crystal on the bass.  Such a ‘satisfying’ experience to
hear these girls, so pure and innocent do the music in that same
manner.  And guess what, they all thank our Lord and Savior, Jesus
Christ for His many gifts and blessings upon not just their lives, but
all lives that know Him and follow Him. I’m pretty good at ‘reading’ the
Rural Roots Music Commission’s likes, so I’d say ‘Girls, get ready for a
nice honor.’  I hope it comes to pass, even though it’s quite early in
the year of picking the winners, but my vote goes to Twang.
